Weber or EWU??

WSU finishes the season 7-4.
Assuming EWU wins game right now (up 42-28 in the 3rd) they would finish 7-3 IF DII wins don't count?
WSU wins the head to head in the tie for 2nd place in the sky at 6-2.
Could both get in?
Would only EWU get in?
Would only WSU get in?
Does EWU's win over a DII help them over Weber? Or is WSU's 4 losses too much?
A lot of teams we thought would win have lost - lafayette, UNI, liberty
WSU losses: Wyo, Colorado St, UM, MSU
EWU losses: Cal, UM, WSU
Big Sky Final Standings:
1. UM 8-0
2. WSU 6-2
3. EWU 6-2*
4. MSU 5-3
5. NAU 4-4*

Both should get in if EWU holds on.

Has the sky sent 3 teams since boise n nevada n idaho left? or has the sky ever sent 3?

I would have to think that, after what has happened today, our chances as a conference to get three in has greatly improved as the day has gone. EWU needs to hold on, though.

In 2003, NAU, MSU and UM made it.
Before that it's happened several other times, but not since Boise St., Nevada, and Idaho were still in the Sky.

EWU will get the second to last at large, Weber will get the last one... same record as UNI, but a tougher schedule and better performance against playoff caliber teams.

The two teams are completely even (both 7-2 against FCS) and only Weber's win over EWU separates them.
Given today's other results, however, both should get in unless NAU decides to stop self-destructing.

They have sent 3 but the last time was when Boise, Nevada, and Montana went if I remember correctly.
Of the 7-4 teams I think Weber has the strongest resume. The head to head is in their favor if it comes down to a choice between EWU/WSU.
EWU has only 3 losses with their 7 D1 wins and are higher in the GPI at this point.
That one is a coin flip in my mind and will be a tough argument inside the committee tonight/tommorrow morning I would think.
Everybody is assuming UNI is out but I'm not convinced that they are. They have an almost equal resume to WSU so if they are in the discussion then UNI is at least talked about in this conversation still. The string of losses in the last month + will definitely work against them though.
A head scratcher happens every year and I don't expect this selection to be any different this year.

Ah hell, I forgot all about that one.

i guess looking at it this way UNI would be 7-3 vs FCS.

I think UNI's done. 7-4 with no good wins & closing with a suspect loss to Illinois St.

EWU would be the only team in the field capable of giving up 747 yards....

Didn't EWU, Montana, and MSU all go in 05 or 04?

If you go click the "history" tab at the top of the page Kalm you can check because the entire is playoff history is on there. I'm gonna go look now but I don't think that is how it happened. In 2005 I think it was only MSU and UM.
just checked and in 05 it was UM/EWU and in 06 it was UM/MSU.

Portland State should have joined the Cats and Griz in 2006.

Agreed. That was complete crap, and I wouldn't be suprised if the selection committee pull some similiar **** tomorrow. At the very least, it's not outside the realm of possibility.

If we hear Liberty tomorrow during the selection show, we will know the committee screwed the pooch.
