Weber State postseason ban til 2012!!!!

WSU's administration has a ban in the works to keep the football team out of the playoffs until 2012 and beyond that, is still pending.
To fight back against this the football team will attempt to go 8-0 or 7-1 in conference play to get in.
2009: @ wyo, @ csu - if wsu wins we'll find out sunday if we made the playoffs
2010: @ texas tech, @ *Arizona State
2011: @ wyo, @ usu
2012: unknown
The fans will be hoping for an OOC FCS game for the 3rd of the 3 OOC games each year otherwise a DII or NAIA game would be the nail in the coffin if that is the administration's intention.
Many fans said WSU scheduled themselves out of the playoffs this year. Only a few more days til we find out. Looks like nothing will change after this year and nothing was learned. Though the WSU administration hasn't been known as the sharpest tools in the shed or known to back the fball coach.
*Not official yet but in the works we hear.

That's tough. If Weber could pull a couple of those FBS games out it would be nice. Not only for the program but to get more Big Sky, a la (CAA of the West) into the playoffs

Administration doesn't care much about football do they? Must be all about the money to them.

Pretty creative there wildcat. It's too bad they are doing that but first and foremost the program must need the money since they are. Either that or they are as you said just dumbasses.

Or, more likely in Weber's case:
BOTH.

Funny thing is WSU's bookstore sold BAck Mac shirts the first couple year's he was here yet they school won't back him. They still won't give him any money for recruiting to compete with the Montanas. WSU is the definition of a true shoe-string budget.
Maybe they can let Mac decide what will happen with all that FBS money coming in....doubtful.
Ive always said this and I will continue to say this, WSU doesn't deserve Mac or Rahe.

I'm guessing it's not a matter of choosing to not back football. It's more probably that the money simply isn't there. EWU experienced something like a 20% cut across the board and there was a statewide hiring freeze for universities for the first 6 months of this year.

Beyond what I mentioned above I really can't say for sure. But I'm guessing it's pretty bad for most state universities because its pretty bad for most states.

Not without Cam Higgins. Bo Bolen should be pretty stellar by then though.

I agree that 2011 looks pretty good. We'll have to see what players step up between now and then. Mac's recruiting has been impressive so far!

Hey now. When I brought up the fact that many West schools have to take for sure losses due to overall budgets, and therefore have to start out in the polls with a 0-1 record, I was told it just wasn't happening.
You see, apparently the Temples, Ball States, Dukes and Virginias are paying as much as a Pac10 team, so you guys should just tell your AD that it is really easy to get a patsy FBS team that will pay as much as a team from a BCS conference.

Portland State was to go to ASU in 2010. That is now moved to 2011 per Sun Devils request. We are scheduled to open next year at Oregon instead. Both are confirmed.

Football teams that don't draw are bound to have budget problems.
