As we were talking yesterday, I think about 19 is where they should be. What is your thought on them being in that spot DF?

Not sure if you saw it earlier this morning Ursus, but when dbj first posted the poll a few hours there was no #19 in the ranking at all. It was omitted

I did not see that but it was on the original in the poll forum so I assume dbj may have just missed it in the copy and paste venture.

Yeah I had Penn at 23 I think. It's the first time I've had an Ivy League in this year I think. I don't know if they are tougher than NAU or Delaware but I did them give them a nod by one spot based on the records. As I've said before down in the 20-25 range I ain't gonna argue with the picks too much as they just don't matter enough. I can't figure out who is slightly more or less mediocre in that range.

I had Penn in at the 23-25 range. UD or NAU may beat them, but right now I have Penn in. NAU and UD were 2 of my first out.

HC at #19 is fine. I have them at #23, but that's because i think Delaware and Montana State are much stronger than HC. HC can score in the PL all they want, but your're talking about an offense that hasn't exactly faced the best secondaries and D-lines in the country.
I don't think Colgate should be in the Poll at all though.

Not so fast my friend! I have Penn at 25 in my poll.
They should not be ranked above Lafayette though.

Penn's a good addition to the bottom of any poll. Loss at Villanova and a three point loss on the road to Lafayette. Plus they went undefeated in the Ivy League. I actually had them in at #25 last week. Moved them up to #22 after beating Harvard. Preseason I had them second behind Harvard in the Ivy so I've kind of had my eye on them. Pretty solid club, and a pretty good pick. I probably would not consider them higher than #20 right now, though.

Well South Carolina State is arguably even with Holy Cross (same conference strength etc.) Why are they in the top 10?

I had Lafayette up around 19 I think last week but the loss dropped em' a few spots.

I agree Lafayette deserves no better than one of the last few spots at this point

I've seen both play and I think SCSU is way better than HC. Irrespective of conference strengths. SCSU may have 2 or 3 wins in them in the playoffs. I don't think there's much chance for HC to get out of the first round.
BTW, I missed SCSU in the top 10. I think #7 is too high. I've got them at #12.

SC State's only loss is to SEC's South Carolina. Holy Cross only loss is to Brown. A bit of discrepancy there, I'd say.

Using the old adage--who has SCSU beat?
This is the game played againt PL schools all the time. Who did you beat...well who has SCSU beaten out of the MEAC? If you want to use that arguement for the PL it has to be applied to other conferences.

I don't really know what you are getting at, but it is your right not to see why a loss to South Carolina isn't any different than a loss to Brown. Being objective and stepping out of the PL, I think you would see it, though.
