Former Mr. Football will transfer to CSU

Clemson pitcher Richard Mounce, a highly recruited quarterback out of Blythewood High School, has decided to give up baseball and will transfer to Charleston Southern to play football.

Mounce, a 6-0, 205-pound right-hander, was a two-time all-state quarterback at Blythewood High School. The former South Carolina Mr. Football led the Bengals to the Class AAA state title as a junior in 2006. The Bengals were 10-0 in 2007 as Mounce threw for more than 2,400 yards and 34 touchdowns in 10 games, but Blythewood was ineligible for the playoffs that season. He passed for more than 5,000 yards and 70 touchdowns in two seasons. Mounce committed to Clemson to play baseball as a sophomore in high school and never entertained football scholarship offers....

Actually, now that I look at a map, it makes perfect sense. Who in their right MIND would want to be that close to Tennessee? I'm guessing the girls in Charleston are much better lookin'. :kisswink:

I agree there.

But if, and that's a big if, the boy is looking to go pro in baseball or football....well....it appears he didn't have much of a brain to begin with when he decided to forgo football altogether in favor of baseball

Agreed. To not even entertain offers? I mean, Christ, the commitment as a soph is verbal anyways... :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: That's just a bad job of parenting all around. :coffee: :coffee:

Sounds like a good pickup for the Bucs. I think they will finish on a positive note this week. Could things be looking up for CSU? Hopefully, they will put that $$$$$ from Florida and South Florida to good use in their program.

Ground breaking should start on the new athletic complex this spring from what I understand. Would have been underway already if that jerk Parish had not embezzed close to 10 million of the Universities investments towards it.
