Griz defense seems to be bringing more pressure. Selle gave way to Roper at QB after two possessions...it'll be interesting to see if Hauck sticks with him.

Interesting score. Griz seem to like the idea of keeping it close in some games that were thought to be blowouts.

The streak ends here. The title is going to Sacred City in 2010.

In my opinion, Roper seriously outplayed Selle, and should be the starter.

Apparently you didn't see the previous games where Roper couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
I thought Roper looked a slight bit better than Selle yesterday, but Selle has the better numbers on the season and has played with more consistency.

No, I saw the previous game. I just think that Roper's added running threat helps keep the defense honest. Selle has had the better numbers because he's had by FAR the most playing time. It's hard to get consistent when you get 2-3 series a GAME....which was what Roper was getting the last 4-5 games.

Roper needs to relax in the pocket. I think he gets nervous way too quick which causes those bad throws. If he developes better pocket presence he has the gun to get things done but I agree that Hauck is not doing either he or Selle any favors.

Z, how do you bench the fifth rated passer in the country? Only Belecheat would do something that stupid.

I already told you WHY I'd do it. HOW is a different story....

The point is, Selle has proven himself game in and game out, for the entire season. Why bench the guy who has gotten you where you are?

Selle is an accident waiting to happen.

Really? 3 interceptions in 10 games is an accident waiting to happen?
Also, don't forget the fact that we've only won national championships with a Montana boy at the helm

Or: 3 INT's and 2 fumbles in 2 games. You know, whichever way you chose to look at it.
And you do realize that Ropers rating is above 140, right? I mean, it ain't like he's a slouch.

Yeah, I guess I could focus on the fact that he had an off game, like every player does, and completely ignore his consistent play throughout the season.

I like Selle's running (and non-fumbling when he DOES run) ability. So fuckin' sue me. Selle AIN'T leading this team to the promised land. Mark my words.

I'll mark your words again like I marked your words last season in the "Is the Cole Berquist expirement about over" thread where you were sure that Cole couldn't lead the team with his consistent play. Funny thing is that you used many of these same arguments to say that Selle was the QB to go with that you are now using against him.
As far as Roper goes...he is a good QB but the fact that he came from a spread option offense is making the transition to our offense hard on him. He rarely sets his feet to make his throws and although he has a tremendous arm it gets him in trouble.
The other thing you are sweeping under the rug as far as Roper's playing time this year is that he was in there at a much bigger clip BEFORE he got his concussion. I believe the coaches are doing what they think is best for him in the last month and limiting the hits he's taking because of that injury and giving him a chance to really recuperate from said injury.
You are one of those guys that always thinks he has a handle on what's going on and that you know better how or who should be in place to win games than the coaches. They see the guys every day whereas we see them one day a week and yet you think you know more than the guys who's livelihood depends on them winning.
You are a special boy AZ.
