I don't wanna be a poll voter today

jeeebus christmas....
the top 5-10 are easy... 11-25 sucks a bag of donkey shit... fuck you parity, right in the ear...
there are some teams who certainly don't deserve top 25 status - but because so many other teams shit the bed yesterday - there are some real mediocre teams in the top 25 at this point (i seriously considered a PFL team for the first time this season... yuck)
how's poll voting going for you guys?

Actually this is when I begin to love being a voter. It makes me evaluate the whole country more, look for more information on teams that I thought I would never vote for, more information on teams that have surprised me, makes me expand the whole picture. We all realize how difficult it is for any team to go through the year undefeated, regardless of how easy your schedule may look on paper. Do 8-0 and 7-1 teams belong over 4-4 teams from the "power" conferences? Maybe, maybe not. Do you just want to stay in your comfort area, even if it means including a lot of 3-5 (or worse) teams in your poll? I say this is where the fun begins.

There are teams at 4-4 in power conferences that still deserve to be ranked before teams in the PFL.
I wouldn't even put the PFL teams in my Top 40. There are more than 40 teams that would go 8-0 and 7-1 with the schedules they have.
My poll is an attempt to put the Top 25 teams in a list. If there are 25 teams ahead of Team X that I believe would beat Team X, then I don't vote for Team X.
Quick example: Do you really think Butler or Drake would beat UMass? I can't imagine a scenario in the world that would allow that to happen.

Me, too. I'm doing a little more research, instead of doing it in my sleep. I usually do not start getting "scratch-outs" in my poll until Halloween, anyway, so I'm right on schedule.

Well, if you feel like helping a brother out I'll look at any teams that I may have been missing out on if you have a case for any of them.
The only thing I'm pretty sure about right now is putting CCSU in place of Albany cuz they looked pretty equal to me with Albany getting a slight edge but this week I'm gonna change those out.

I for one am glad some of the poll voters are taking the time to think through teams beyond their comfort zone. The biggest problem with the human polls is that most pollsters only think through a relatively few teams. Sometimes what happened in the last five or ten years is more important than what has happened this year. Sometimes the focus is only on some of the games a team has played and not all of them.
There is a reason I refused the offer to vote in this poll. I knew I would not have the time to do it right.

The cool thing is having some of the others in this poll give you a little alert on some teams that you wouldn't have on your radar. CCSU being one of them that I was turned on to by Dback and Danefan about 3 weeks ago. Which reminds me...I gotta go look at what Missouri State did yesterday.

This poll sucks. Hardest in a long time. I bet we get some crazy results.

Really 12-20 is hard. The league is very top heavy this year.

1-11 is easy, after that I think it is preference and bias. Some might say an 8-0 Butler team should receive credit for the 8-0 record and others might say they played no one and its a bogus record. I love the bottom half of a poll because they usually do not matter in the end results, but its fun to see the teams jump around and in and out each week.

Butler is nowhere near a top 50 team.
Three D3's. No double digit wins. Struggled to beat Pioneer bottom feeders Campbell, Valpo and Davidson.
Wins are against teams with a combined 10-31 record.
Anyone voting Butler shouldn't be voting at all

Butler has both Drake and Dayton coming up. We'll know more about all three teams in the next few weeks. Because of that, I'd probably wait 2-3 weeks on any Pioneer team.

agreed - toward the end of the season - if one team can emerge dominant in pfl against each other - they get a 24 or 25th place vote

Hadn't had them in the top ten once this year. I'm not a complete homer like Jon.
I had EWU at 20 last week, moved up to 15 this week.

Just a partial homer, then?
Seriously, I didn't have them ranked last week. Moved them up to #17 this week. Glad to see that is about right.

It's okay, I had PSU at 75 last week, but had to bump them back to 87 this week.

Yeeeeah, I'm gonna say this is probably the worst looking poll I've put together... but I can't figure out who belongs where in the middle to bottom... I mean, I got the strength of schedule aspect and that one team has beaten another with the same record, but then it comes down to 4-4/5-4 teams in a "stronger" conference vs a 7-1 team. In all the confusion with stats, records and conference victories, I
Do
Believe that I
Just may have missed a pick that at least one poster will be upset with.
