EKU lost to Austin Peay, dude. You really think they're better than LU?
Montana State would make sense, even Colgate or Penn. But Austin Mother Freakin' Peay?
Cmon now...

Flame on brother.....flame on!
That loss to AP flew under the radar for a lot of people this week.

Well they at least have a win over an un-ranked team, unlike Liberty. The only other team I might have put in at #25 was Lafayette. BTW they beat Penn.
The bigger problem is when you get down to the last 2-3 it is more like throwing darts, nobody really stands out.

Okay, I assume you mean ranked team. And if you're considering Lafayette, why isn't Liberty ahead of them, too? Ya know, since Liberty beat Lafayette. At Lafayette.
EKU has lost to Tennessee St. and Austin Peay. Liberty has lost to West Virginia and James Madison. If a loss to JMU keeps LU out, a loss to AP and TSU should put EKU in the 40's or 50's. Just don't follow the logic man...

I don't see that at all.
Really?
Maybe equal to Lafayette, but greater than JSU and Liberty?
JSU and Liberty both played good BCS teams tough.
Did you watch the PVA&M game on TV the other night? They didn't look good at all.

Yes I did. Look what "playing good BCS teams tough" has gotten UNI....moral victories don't count, fellas. JSU just got ROLLED by the first decent FCS team they played. Personally, I feel that SWAC competition is better than PL or Big South. CONSIDERABLY better than Big South. Liberty's best "game" was a LOSS to a 2-5 JMU team. Lafayette LOST TO LIBERTY!
None of these teams are barnburners....and there's a SIGNIFICANT drop-off in talent level after #19.

Your opinion on the level of the SWAC is where you lose me. Your analysis is logical from there on, but I don't see what makes you think the SWAC competition is better than the PL or Big South?
They are a lot like the Ivy league in that they don't tend to schedule many outside the HBCU realm.

a) they play more bruthas.
b) At that point in the poll, does it really matter?

Better wins than Liberty.
Win
s? Multiple? Hah. Explain that one to me. EIU is slightly better than a win over Lafayette, by your own admittance, since EIU is barely higher than where Lafayette would be hypothetically. Who else has EKU beat?
UTM, who has only beaten SEMO St., Murray State, and a Sub DI
Murray State, who has only beaten TSU and a Sub DI
Tennessee Tech, who has 3 OVC wins, none over EIU or JSU, and a sub DI.
Liberty has beaten Lafayette and Coastal Carolina, who has at least won something out of conference. (Monmouth and NCA&T) And then a couple of scrub wins. I would say LU's wins are equal. No clear advantage to either team...
Both have respectable FBS losses.
So then it comes down to FCS losses... JMU in their last game with healthy Dudzik, or Austin Peay AND Tenn. St?
I think LU wins that battle.

It matters to fans of the teams that are in that range of the poll.
And I'd give you the edge on more bruthas.

The Big South beats up on the MEAC, which is always rated higher than the SWAC (We would probably play the SWAC if they weren't in the middle of nowhere).
And Liberty's best games are wins over CCU by blowout, tough road win over Lafayette, and a respectable loss to WVU. The JMU game was our worst game.
If you mean the best game on our schedule in terms of the Big South, it was the crown jewel I guess, but how were we supposed to know their starting QB and multiple other starters would be gone? Liberty over Lafayette and SBU against UMass were probably the best games for the conference, and both were losses, but no one thinks the Big South is better than the CAA. But it is better than the SWAC, that's for darn sure.

I assume you're going on UNH beat Nova and Nova beat W&M but forgiving UNH's loss to UMass. What happens if W&M beats UNH?
