Bottom line, CCU played no one until Liberty. Of the last 3 games played, they lost 2, overrated all year, but still a top 10-15 team. Should be pretty good next year too, good QB, will lose a very good player on defense.

CC's offense played a very good game. Their defense was pretty weak.
CC offense can hang with anyone in the FCS. Our defense in coming along...much improved from last year, but still a work in progress.

But I wouldn't call it weak, unless you want to say the same about the Bison D...since they did give up 32 points to our 39.
Bison Defense gave up 25 points, special teams 7. Still Coastal has a very good offense, probably the best the Bison have faced this year.

I forget the stat, but I think it had been 7 or 8 straight games that NDSU didn't allow the opponent to score in the 1st. And anyone watching that game saw that Coastal had a real chance. We did it to ourselves with the penalty that erased the TD, and those coaching calls for 2 point conversions. Had we gotten that TD and gone for the PATs, we'd be singing a different tune. But in the end, we were competitive. We showed that Loud or Cold & Loud won't affect us. We played ball, we brought it to Fargo and walked away playing a helluva game.

The three-time defending champion Bison, who will play at home again next Saturday against Sam Houston State, survived a rare shootout, by their standards. The last time they gave up more points was Dec. 11, 2010, in a playoff loss to Eastern Washington

This catch was called out of bounds. The first of a few bad calls by the refs. Image

The first 2PC would have cut it to 3 late in the third. Any coach who wouldn't go for two there has some questions to answer. The second 2PC would have put Coastal up 3—no idea why you would kick the PAT there, either.

If CCU kicked the PATs, they would've trailed 38-34 and still needed a touchdown.

Really? A TD? Is that so? Did you read my post?

I was ignoring the penalty/TD thing because that was irrelevant to your 2PC analysis. I was implying you still didn't get that TD.

It's all connected. Getting that TD wouldn't have necessitated the risk for the 2PC.

Btw, just read that our QB was playing with a separated shoulder. That's risky and stupid, IMO.
