The CAA doesn't need to fall on its face the other conferences need to step up and have a 2nd, 3rd or 4th team that is a better choice for the playoffs than the 5th place CAA team.

The CAA has been the best conference over the last 5 years or so and I don't see how an argument could be made contrary to that if you are looking at the overall conference. That will not change this year. I'm only concerned with having the team that beats every opponent in it's path in the playoffs.

Of course when you have 12 teams in your conference, there's bound to be more good teams (and bad) than the average conference that has only 7 or 8 members.

CAA has 5/12 teams in the top 25 (Preseason).
Big Sky has 5/9 teams in the top 25 (Preseason). <--Win

I posted a while back that I almost never look at which board the subject comes from and just lay my smack wherever it fits the tenor of the conversation when the mood strikes. Please put my pussy boy response in reserve for when I post smack on the FCS board.

Agreed. :thumb: I have no problem saying the CAA is currently the best overall conference in football either, regular season record and playoffs have proven that. I will say that I'm surprised more CAA posters have choked to death juggling each others' dicks in their mouths though. ;)

Yup, I really don't care what the rest of the SoCon does (and I've seen enough smack from the other eight teams in the conference to know the feeling is mutual).

You should have been here during the playoffs and leading it up to it last year. You would have laughed your ass off. Mounty put some real purty words in the appropriate places on that one for sure though.

That's a good question and I think he did rip the tits off that one but I can't just keep piling tit ripping trophy's on the same guys. It's the Obama era and I have to spread it around a little. Ah fuck it, he ripped the tits off that one.

That commercial is hilarious.

I don't know if the CAA is number one in all of FCS this year or not, but today it looks like the CAA is better than the ACC.

Most major preseason publications this summer rank Richmond and Villanova in the Top 5, James Madison and New Hampshire in the Top 10, William & Mary in the Top 15 and Massachusetts and Maine in the Top 25.
League teams have gone 59-17 against out-of-conference I-AA opponents, including playoff games, the last two years.
The only other league with much of a claim to being the CAA's equal is the Southern Conference, which has gone 8-5 against the Colonial in head-to-head playoff games since 2000, while winning four titles in that span. Three of those titles - and five of those head-to-head wins - belong to one school: Appalachian State.

The CAA, meanwhile, has had six different teams reach the semifinals since 2000.

Colonial teams have played for the title in five of the last six years - with Delaware winning in 2003, JMU in 2004 and Richmond last year. (The CAA took over the football branch of the Atlantic 10 before the 2007 season.)

So, I say 2009 will see another 5 CAA teams (minimum) in the post-season...with at least one making the finals...

That leaves the other spot for...

Let the CAA envy begin...
1) CAA is not a conference
2) Who cares? I really wish someone could tell me why CAA teams have more pride in their association than their teams...just don't get it. Thanks.

It's not so much pride as in I like to see the other schools in our division play well against OOC/other CAA opponents, it makes every school in the conference (yes Andy, even Towson) look better when more teams succeed against tough opponents. Plus, we're trying to get all of our teams in the playoffs, so that's another aspect. Yeah, I hate Richmond, Nova, W&M, Towson, UD, etc when we play them... but when we're not, I'd rather see them win than lose. It makes the stomping we gave them look better to the playoff selection committee  .

Why not take pride in your conference? Do you want to play in a sub par bottom heavy conference or have everyone think you play a bunch of "fluff" teams? Maybe it's just a difference we have between the FCS and FBS (i.e. every SEC, Big 10, ACC, PAC10 fan thinks their conference is the best).
