14-3 and 38-28 against an Ivy and Big South are hardly better than 12-10 against a down ISU. At least Idaho State has a National Championship banner hanging in its stadium and comes from a conference that fully funds scholarships.

Illogical would be describing a team from a power conference (no matter how bad) as sister's of the poor.
Oh, my apologies then. I didn't realize that montana had to play against an old championship banner as well...

Old championship banners would keep it within 10 against VMI or Penn. :thumb:

No, Butler is 9-0. :coffee:

Certainly not saying that merits them the #1 spot.
But SIU's only loss was a three-point loss to an FBS team (not a particularly GOOD FBS team, but still).

So if I was voting (which I'm not), I'd have SIU as my #1.

Its not dumb. This is supposed to be a ranking of which teams are the best teams. Not which teams have the longest winning streaks.

If you squeak by a team that you should roll by 30, then you don't deserve to stay at the same spot or move up in the poll IMO.
Agreed 100%.

Sometimes it's not so much "moving a team down" as it is moving another team up (which might bump other teams down a spot).

I'd think it would be quite tough to say that SIU's win over SDSU today was not more impressive than UM's win over ISU.

1) 'Nova
2) SIU
3) Montana
4) Elon
5) Richmond

Nova beat #1 on the road, deserves it this week in spite of loss to UNH.

SIU jumps the Griz this week, played better against stroger opponent, no FCS losses.

Griz probably deserve to be a place or two lower, but a win is a win counts for something.

Elon, deserves some recognition in spite of weaker resume than rest of top 5

Richmond, lost a close one, a number 1 team shouldn't lose at home because of poor kicking.

My point is that ISU is being tremendously under rated. They are easily on of the ten best 0-8 teams in the country. Hell, it wouldn't be a stretch for them to have a couple of wins playing if they were playing in the Ivy or NEC. ;)

ISU would have more than a couple of wins in the NEC or Ivy League.

Hence why he said "too." Both undefeated in FCS play, SIU with the better resume.

for me poll positions are based on my preception of a teams most recent performance. that said, i haven't had the Griz higher than 3rd.
1. SIU
2. Villanova
3. Griz ( i won't penalize a win, nor will i reward for that performance! )

Gotta be SIU or Nova. No way you can reward Montana for their performance this week.
