#1 NDSU (10-0) vs U of South Dakota (4-6)

Post by Bison Fan in NW MN »

Looking forward to the game on Saturday and the final regular season home game for 24 seniors.

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

This has been a great ride with this group of seniors. In their four years so far at NDSU they are 47-7. They will go down as the best recruiting class ever at NDSU. The seniors in '86 were awesome but that was at D2. The underclassmen have some big shoes to fill the next few years.

USD will be coming in playing to upset the Bison. Joe Glenn has made some significant improvements in the Coyote program since he has taken over as coach. Last year was a tough one in Vermillion with the team going 0-8 in conference and 1-10 overall. This season's 4 wins is a decidedly big step forward for the program and a win over the Bison would build a ton of confidence for next year. USD was 4-3 with 3 straight home games in the DD but they fell on some back luck. Their games with Youngstown and Montana were potential wins but they did not make the plays in the end to win and the SDSU game had a few bad breaks. Injuries have now started to creep in on the line-up esp at RB. If the Coyotes are 1-dimensional on Saturday they have no chance. Their OLB Tyler Starr is a stud and will need to be accounted for by the Bison on every play, he is the Coyotes 'difference maker' on defense.

I suspect the Bison to keep it simple on Saturday. This has been a goal for the team since last year.....#1, to win the Valley title and then go undefeated. Coach Bohl will play to win and not rest the starters until the game is decided, however long that takes. The #1 seed is still in play. IMO, a loss knocks them behind EIU for the #1 spot.

The Bison will win this game on the line of scrimmage. The O-line, probably the best in the FCS, has been crushing defenses all year and I suspect that will continue Saturday. The D-line has also been a strength the whole season and I do not see a letdown on Saturday.

Bison win 38-6 and wrap up the #1 seed.

Teams that could beat the Bison this year have to be well-balanced on offense and play good defense. IMO, there are only 2 teams that could beat the Bison: EWU and Towson

Will root for he underdog, but happy, nonetheless, to see the Bison successful.

USD should have beaten Montana. We'll see if the Bison can eek out a win!

USD's Tyler Starr is a good OLBer, it will be fun to see if AA- Billy Turner can stop him.

The Bison defense has given up only 14 TDs in 10 games so far this year.

Just about ready to head to Fargo for the game. Frickin cold up here in NW MN....went to work out at 5 am and it was -7....

Bison shouldn't have too much trouble with USD. Lock for the #1 seed and possible 3 home games for the playoffs.

Great game by both the offense and defense yesterday.

The Bison totally dismantled a USD team that should have beaten Montana 2 weeks ago. USD has made improvements over last year but still has a ways to go.

Great job by the defense this year. They have given up a total of 14 TDs in 11 games for a 11.5 points/game ave against.

Lock for the #1 seed.

I'm going to puke if the NCAA brings SDSU back to Fargo again. This pseudo regionalization they have done reeks of D2.

Top 3 seeds are pretty easy:

NDSU
EIU
EWU
