Re: Big Sky Week 11
Weber State will not defeat Northern Arizona this week. WSU QB Cameron Higgins is hurt, although I expect him to play, and will not be at full strength while NAU QB Michael Herrick, hurt a few weeks ago, is on the mend and played well last week. The Lumberjack defense is very stingy and without a healthy Higgins, Weber will have to run the ball - not favorable against NAU.

Re: Big Sky Week 11
I think (as seems to be the usual) that you may be selling SUU a bit short against the Eagles this year. We have a much better defense and offense then the Eagles faced last year (shut down a prolific Cal Poly rushing attack earlier this season) . Not saying we wont lose but i do think we have a better shot at winning then we did last season. Either way i think the game will be decided within 10 points at most, if we can shut down TJ we have a chance...if not well we will lose.

Dont count us down and out yet Screaming Eagle, we may just have to pull the upset when we play you this Saturday, looking forward to a great game against a future Big Sky opponent.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Can't wait until we beat your adopted team too.grizzaholic wrote:SUU will roll.

Have you seen SUU play this year? I hear they have been destroying teams as of late.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Can't wait until we beat your adopted team too.grizzaholic wrote:SUU will roll.

Just tell SE to go fuck himself. It usually works...especially after the Seachickens get dominated.

Or would it could dash their hopes to nothing because ISU has won their last game a couple years in a row.SUUTbird wrote:Appreciate the support, however i prefer to let my talking to be done on the football fieldgrizzaholic wrote:Just tell SE to go **** himself. And as i stated earlier i think it will be a good game as two pretty darn good teams (one playoff bound if they can get past us and ISU, will get by at least 1, and 1 team that deserves to be in the playoffs). This will be a huge game for EWU since the Eagles need 1 more D1 win to secure a playoff spot. However i think that my Thunderbirds could very well make them wait another week to get that win

Lots of wishful thinking going on here........
Seriously, though, SUU will be one of the tougher games that EWU plays this year. I don't think anyone's counting SUU out of this one - especially not the coaches or the team. Having an extra week to prepare and getting a few guys healthy should help some, we will need it to beat a very good SUU team.
And I know you all think we're going to lose to Idaho State for whatever reason, but I'll worry about them after this weekend. One game at a time!

It's very much wishful thinking by MSU and particularly UM fans that you lose to ISU. We hope you lose because it helps us for playoff home game chances and even seeding chances, and UM hopes you lose because they need you to to have any chance of sharing the Big Sky title.EWURanger wrote:Lots of wishful thinking going on here........![]()

I'm not counting out SUU at all. I know how dangerous the T-birds are this year. I was worried about them last year too. EWU has lost the last game of the season only once in the last decade (2003 - UM), and lost our last home game in Cheney only once in the last decade (2002 - SAC).grizzaholic wrote:Or would it could dash their hopes to nothing because ISU has won their last game a couple years in a row.SUUTbird wrote:

Re: Big Sky Week 11
UM over UND – UM should completely roll UND. Their only downfall could be if they are looking ahead to the MSU game.
PSU over UNC – I picked PSU to win 3 games this season, this would the the 3rd one I picked them to win. I think this is a toss up though.
NAU over WSU – Both teams may be without their star QB. NAU has the better defense and are at home.
Sac State over ISU – The Hornets need to focus on this game or they will lose. This is definitely a trap game. The Hornets have better talent but ISU has shown that they can compete with almost anyone.
EWU over SUU – A loss at “The Pad”? Not gonna happen this year.

Re: Big Sky Week 11
this will be a completely different game than the one played in cedar city last year and any comparisons should be thrown out. by the time we played the suu and nau games last year our defense was basically decimated by injuries, not so much the case this year and we have more depth. while i don't see us putting up anywhere near the amount of points as we did against you last year, i think we'll be a little more balanced and hopefully our defense can keep that great passing game of suu somewhat in check. it should be a good game, and no i don't think any ewu fans are dismissing suu. you have a very good team this year.SUUTbird wrote:I think (as seems to be the usual) that you may be selling SUU a bit short against the Eagles this year. NoCo 21-27 Portland St. — Why wouldn't Scott Downing's last game end tragically?
Sac State 31-17 Idaho St. — Bengal offense just not potent enough.
Weber 17-21 NAU — The What Coulda Been Bowl.
Suutah 31-35 EWU — Taiwan Jones bails out EWU's vulnerable secondary.
NoDak 10-30 Montana — Griz easily win their first meeting with UND since 1973.

I know we're anticipating Downing's attendance at the unemployment line. But given that we've assumed that for the last several years and it hasn't happened leads me to believe that they just might not pull the trigger.
