Power Rankings 11-11

Post by JALMOND »

Happy Veteran's day to all the veterans out there. With the arrival of Veteran's day, the season is coming to a close. Some great games coming up in the last week, but the teams all have one more week to get through and some have some tough games before the rivalry week. Some teams are playing spoiler and would love to knock a few others down a peg. Here are this week's power rankings (last week in parenthesis). All are my opinion only. Two weeks left. Here we go!

1. Montana State (1)---Last week beat Weber State at home 66-14, this week UC Davis at home---The Bobcats continued to roll along, hardly noticing a speed bump in the way that was the Wildcats. They have a much anticipated showdown coming up, but first a formidable foe coming to town this week with the Aggies.

2. Montana (2)---Last week beat Eastern Washington at home 29-24, this week at Portland State---The Grizzlies may be looking forward to their highly anticipated matchup with the Bobcats, but they still have some games to play. Last week they turned back the Eagles at home. This week, they head out to face the Vikings.

3. UC Davis (4)---Last week won at Idaho 28-14, this week at Montana State---The Aggies may be beat up, but they are still in the middle of things in the conference. They got a good road win last week at the Vandals' barn. Heading into a big game with their rivals, they could really mix things up with a win at the Bobcats.

4. Sacramento State (3)---Last week won at Portland State 52-24, this week Idaho at home---The Hornets head up north and got a good road win at the Vikings home turf last week. They are hoping for a good matchup with their rival in two weeks, but they first have a tough home game this weekend with the Vandals.

5. Northern Arizona (6)---Last week beat Northern Colorado at home 49-10, this week Cal Poly at home---The Lumberjacks are trying to come back into the playoff picture and took a big step last week, destroying the conference darlings at home. They get the opportunity to destroy the other conference darlings this weekend.

6. Idaho State (7)---Last week beat Cal Poly at home 27-17, this week Weber State at home---After beating the Mustangs at home last week, the Bengals get the opportunity to face off against both their rivals to end the season. They get the Wildcats at home this week before a tussle in two weeks against the Vandals.

7. Idaho (5)---Last week lost to UC Davis at home 28-14, this week at Sacramento State---The Vandals season is slowly coming to an end. They needed a win last week at home against the Aggies, but fell short. They will need a win this weekend against the Hornets to salvage some pride before facing their rivals in two weeks.

8. Eastern Washington (9)---Last week lost at Montana 29-24, this week Northern Colorado at home---The Eagles were poised to get a strong road win at the Grizzlies' home den, but fate stepped in and stole it from them. They will need to recover for a chance at pride and the opportunity to get a good home win against the Bears.

9. Northern Colorado (8)---Last week lost at Northern Arizona 49-10, this week at Eastern Washington---The Bears' spectacular season came crashing down last week with a resounding defeat at the hands of the Lumberjacks. They have a tough road game coming up against a rejuvenated Eagles team looking for blood.

10. Cal Poly (10)---Last week lost at Idaho State 27-17, this week at Northern Arizona---The Mustangs are still staying somewhat competitive, staying close to the Bengals last week on the road. This week they hit the road again for a touch matchup with the Lumberjacks. All in all they have looked good all year.

11. Weber State (11)---Last week lost at Montana State 66-14, this week at Idaho State---The Wildcats are just trying to play out the season. They headed into Bobcat territory last week and got totally pummeled. They get a game against their geographical rivals this weekend, the Bengals, on the road, hoping for some pride.

12. Portland State (12)---Last week lost to Sacramento State at home 52-24, this week Montana at home---The Vikings are still trying to play hard and give some players some experience for next year. A tough home loss to the Hornets last week did not look good. This week, maybe more of the same as the Grizzlies come calling.

RECAP: 1, then 2, then 3-5 a step behind, then 6-8, followed by 9-12 in back.
