Rumors are flying that San Diego State could jump from the Mountain West to the Big XII. Apparently, they'll take Boise State, Memphis State, and South Florida with them. FYI, "The Coach" John Kentera is about as good a source as I've ever heard....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Is not a state.
I get the drive behind the realignments for football but they make little sense for all other sports (except possibly men's basketball). Why not have football only conferences and keep the traditional rivalries for other sports?

They keep watering down the Big 12 and maybe someday Texas Tech football can actually be relevant in the conference.
