JohnStOnge wrote:I picked Alabama even though it's 28-16 Clemson right now because Clemson can't stop Alabama's running game. That's ridiculous because their whole defensive line is made up of guys that are going to be high NFL draft picks. But they can't.

Nevertheless, I am pulling for Clemson so I hope I'm wrong. Also I am happy to see Etienne doing well. He's from Jennings, Louisiana, which is in my home town neck of the woods. In fact I lived in Jennings a couple of years and was Sports Editor of the Jennings Daily News when the Jennings Bulldogs made it to the State high school AAA championship game.

Etienne was not all that highly recruited and ended up at Clemson. Glad to see him doing well.

How would that happen, pray tell? The semis were just a little more than a week ago. Super Bowls are somehow done with picking the sites years in advance, what's so hard for southern fanbases that they can't manage to get to another spot in the US? There are plenty of flights to CA every day. And trains. And roads. Again, just sounds like a lot of griping from fanbases, especially 'Bama's fanbase, that because of their yearly cushy schedules, never has to travel, so apparently is mystified how this is done by the rest of the country. :coffee:
Easy. 3 potential sites: West, Central and East.

I’m not a fan of either team, btw. Just seems like common sense to maximize the FAN experience. Not the corporate one

There's really no practical reason to have the game north of Charlotte or west of Dallas. Frankly, they should just do a three year rotation between Atlanta, New Orleans, and Dallas. If the westies are going to cry, maybe work in Phoenix once every 10 years if USC or Oregon get good again.

2005 was the last time the NCG didn't feature a team from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, or South Carolina. Putting the game on the west coast is whack.

I'm sure I'll watch the first half after bowling.
And the redundancy of the same teams being in it is starting to lessen the interest.
Kind of like the NDSU invitational. :coffee:

Watching Alabama’s D line getting blown off the ball is very satisfying.

Now can we watch the Cheatriots get curb-stomped in the NFL playoffs? That would be a nice way to cap off this football season.

To know they were in victory formation at the 5 yard like is even MORE “in your face”....we COULD have scored another TD, but chose not to...

On Facebook, you’d think Clemson played every SEC team last night. I get you won and are celebrating. But they beat Alabama last not, not Carolina or UGA.

I Enjoyed that game, it’s always fun watching Saban and Alabama get curb stomped.

One step better is taking a knee on 4th down at the 5 yard line, and giving them the ball back with time on the clock.

(Sadly, I have been on the wrong end of that scenario).

Maybe those schools should stop acting like they won a championship just because an SEC school (Bama) won one. :coffee:

Maybe Clemson should stop acting like the ACC is better based solely off their recent performance. :tothehand:

And maybe you should EAD. :twocents: :twocents:

FWIW, they did go 3-0 vs the SEC.

I know Clemson did. And I applaud them. But according to some of my friends and family, Clemson is the ACC and 2 ACC teams in the Top 25 means they are a better conference even though the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and Mountain West all had more teams in the top 25. 2 ACC Teams finishing #1 and #15 means the conference is, on the whole, better than the rest? Is that really the strength of the conference? And that's what they're saying, the ACC is clearly the best b/c of 1 team.

And to me, that's false logic.

The SEC went 6-4 in 2018 and 7-5 in 2017. In the past 10 years, the SEC finished 8 seasons with a win % over the ACC between 50%-75%. 2 Seasons were god awful, 2016 and 2014. Go back 20 years, and you only increase the win % over the ACC. :twocents:

These are also the people that don't follow any other sport for the team. Some of them don't even realize that Clemson is a decent baseball team. 1 of them also thought it was Clemson that went to the Final Four in 2017. :ohno:  So - low information fans.

I guess what I'm saying that despite Clemson's incredible success the past 4-5 years, that doesn't equal to their conference being #1 as a whole.
