Towson, Maryland, Navy and Hopkins all in the win column this opening weekend of lacrosse.
Enough of this cold weather shit! It's LAX season!

Is that a minion avatar?
I think Delaware is in a down cycle for lax.
Edit: Maybe not. Checked LaxPower and they have us #11.

Wow Ohio State got really good really fast - should've knocked Hopkins off.

Towson Hopkins tomorrow at Homewood. Not sure I like playing them early, but whatever. Long time last game of the season match up now. Catch them with their pants down, especially after the close call with tOSU.

Doesn't surprise me. Once the big conferences start playing Lacrosse, all the little guys on the east coast are going to have some trouble.
A scholarship to an SEC/Big 10 school? Or a scholarship to Towson or Albany?

Yep. Towson has been feeeling this for the last decade or so. We used to be a top of the line second tier lacrosse program. We're lucky to get any pre-season attention anymore.
Gone are the days of always being in the NCAAs just based on reputation.

It's not like a player is going to make millions as a professional lacrosse player so as a parent I would work with my child to strongly consider a school's academics. Do they have the program(s) you're interested in? Do they have a strong all-around academic program and reputation in case you change your mind? I could see many smaller EC colleges comparing favorably in that instance to some of the B1G0 and SEC schools. I would guess that Johns Hopkins would compare favorably with tOSU in that regard.

Ugh. My Tigers got whalloped by a mediocre Loyola team, 20-4. I guess we got to hope for a CAA tourney autobid again this year.
Not to sound too much like SuperCase, but the WLAX team got a good win against UMBC.

Albany played a great game against #1 'Cuse this week. Lost in OT after coming back from 5 down in the 4th to tie it up.
Great result considering it was Albany's 1st game and Cuse's 2nd.

And that kind of mentality when it comes to picking schools is few and far between when it comes to kids picking schools. You don't see tons of kids doing that in other sports so why would they do that in lacrosse? Sure, there will always be a handful of parents/kids that take a bigger picture look and pick a school to play at based on what else it can give them in terms of education and preparation for life after college, and there will be many more that will go "damn, I just got offered by a Big 10 school - sign me up!!!". And of course, a lot of the Big 10 schools are great academically anyway.

I wonder what Carlin would say about the faggotty fuck running around playing Quiddach or what ever the fuck Harry Potter did.
...and of the shitty NFL rules of contact these days for that matter.

Harvard clinched the Ivy title for the first time since 1990 with a win at Yale!

Actually, they share the title with Cornell, but Harvard hosts the Ivy tournament this weekend because it beat Cornell head-to-head.
