UD beat Colgate in a scrimmage over the weekend 7-5. Seriously, lacrosse in January??

Albany is coming off a terrible year, but we have a ton of young talent, including the most highly touted freshman we've certainly ever had any perhaps that there has ever been in lacrosse.
Lyle Thompson
Lyle and his brother and cousins have started an Iroquois pipeline from Central NY to Albany. Pretty cool to see these guys, whose ancestors actually invented the game, flying around with their long traditional braid.

First game of the season this past Saturday. UD overcame a sluggish first half & dropped 12 3rd quarter goals on Detroit Mercy in a 19-6 rout. Was Coach Shillinghaw's 300th career victory - making him only the 3rd active coach to hit that milestone.
On the road against Bucknell this week - good matchup between nationally-rnaked teams & playoff participants from last year.

Are you going to change your mascot to Redskins?
Pretty impressive stats there.

If traditional results mean anything, there's a pretty steep dropoff after #8.
And of course, as a Delaware fan, I'll make mention that the CAA coaches picked Delaware over UMass, Hofstra, and Penn State in the preseason coaches poll. We are, after all, the two-time defending CAA champions.

My, my how the times have changed. This would be rock bottom for Towson lax. Here's to hoping Coach Nads can bring us back to the final four caliber team that he was on.

Whatever little bit of karma Towson State had has transferred to the football team. The men's basketball and lax teams will suffer accordingly.

The basketball team has sucked MUCH MUCH longer than the football team. 16 seasons worth of it.

#19 Delaware went on the road to defeat #12 Bucknell 11-10 in OT.
Hens led throughout, up 6-3 at the half & built a 10-5 lead and then the Bisom scored 5 unanswered to send it to OT. UD netted the gaame winner with 5 seconds left in OT to goto 2-0 on the season. Next up this weekend a trip down 95 to take on Loyola(MD).

Towson plays Hoplins tomorrow @5pm. It will be on ESPN3/ESPN-U.
I don't like playing the BlueJays early like this. This is the second year in a row. We usually end the regular season against them.
