If these schools come to the conference and form the Pac-16, ASU might as well leave. Their already very slim chances of winning a conference title would immediately drop to ZERO.

And Arizona would never get to the Rose Bowl

The ACC might not be the only big-name conference adding schools in the near future.

The Pac-12 is working on a deal to bring Big 12 schools Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to the conference, according to a report by The Austin American-Statesman. The Statesman cited a source close to the situation that stressed the deal is not yet complete, but that talks were "heating up."

The proposed deal would allow Texas to keep ESPN's Longhorn Network, though The Statesman reports the network would have to add other Pac-12 programming to the network.

The new Longhorn Network, a 24-hour showcase for Texas athletics, has caused several Big 12 members to worry it gives the Longhorns too much power and influence, especially in the areas of exposure and recruiting.

The biggest hiccup is going to be with Texas and their "Longhorn Network" for sure. It sounds like Scott is offering Texas (and Texas Tech by extension) a revenue sharing deal nearly identical to that of USC/UCLA with regards to the Pac-16 Texas network. As a big fan of the Pac-12 the only way that I'm ok with this happening is if Texas gets the same deal as everyone else, if not we should go a different direction, even if it means not landing as high profile of a program.

The Pac 12 has a great logo. Its simple, creative, looks really sharp, and is easily convertible with more teams.

They probably had that in mind when they developed the new one.

And it sounds like these new super conferences are all but a done deal. The next step will be to separate from the NCAA and keep all the money to themselves. Brilliant move by these schools to do so. Fucking brilliant.

I think this would pretty much make all other college football completely irrelevant.

All other football already has been completely irrelevant. Same schools different conference, that is all.

Nothing changes after that in terms of relevance.

The Big 8 made a huge mistake by taking in the SWC refugees. Texas has already destroyed two conferences. Soon, they'll begin work destroying a third.

Mizzou, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State are sooooooo screwed.

Despite what happened last off-season - I stand by it - Kansas/K-State/Mizzou/Notre Dame to the Big 10...

There's your super-conference...

Move West Virginia in to the SEC to give them 14... then it's just a question of if the SEC will find two more they want... Louisville? Cincinnati? Hard to see the SEC bringing in either team - but the pickings are getting slim - granted, the SEC can probably get whoever they want...

I may be alone in this - but I love this shit...

I would actually love to see FSU in the SEC, it's a good fit in all sports.

I don't think Clemson and FSU would vote to raise the buyout for the ACC from $13 million to $20 and then turn around and pay it. Now, the raise might have been raised anyways but still...

I think the ACC holds at 16, presuming that the rumors of UConn and Rutgers coming are true.

The SEC is going to run out of options. After A&M and WVU, who else is there? USF? Which division would Louisville go into? Do they go after TCU?

Can Cincy get into the Big Ten? Can Iowa State?

Still though KU would end up out west but doesn't look like it anymore.

Would Mizzou, KState, KU, ISU entertain the thought of going MWC if BYU and TCU came back? With Boise, Nevada, and Fresno either already there or coming, they would take the Big East's BCS bid. That would put the MWC at 14 and possibly looking for 2 more. Houston? SMU? Memphis?

Iowa St is screwed - the Big 10 will NOT be letting them in. While there is some political pressure in Iowa - the Hawkeyes very much drive the bus politically - and they don't want the Cyclowns in the conference - the other members will respect that.

What I'd love to see:

Syracuse, Pitt, UConn and Rutgers go to the ACC
West Virginia goes to SEC
Notre Dame, Kansas, K-State and Mizzou go to the Big 10
The Big 12 (the rump group of Baylor and Iowa State) bring SMU, TCU, Houston, Rice, Tulsa and UTEP (and maybe UTSA and TX St) in to the NEW Southwest Conference. (maybe they look at New Mexico and NMSU... but meh)
C-USA recovers by adding USF, Louisville and Cincinnati.

The only thing I don't see is what the SEC can do to get to 16... neither Louisville or Cincy are SEC type markets...

If the right situation came up, they'd pay it. But I know the SEC isn't really an option, that's just my viewpoint as a fan. Most of these moves are based around football and this doesn't excite me as a fan of an ACC school.

Can we get a map up in here of all the schools and their newly-proposed conferences? This shit is confusing.

btw, please omit the state of Iowa from the map. I have never cared where that state is, and I don't plan on caring now.
