And North Korea is the truest example of where socialist government ends up on earth.

I don’t think your definition fits me .

I like neither big government nor big corporations. I’m just more of a realist. Humans are the problem. :kisswink:
You might want to believe you’re not for big government but when you want government to solve a bunch of what you perceive to be problems then you’re advocating for growing the size of an already big government.

Like I said, I’m a realist.

In a country of 330 million people, that spans a continent, and has been the world’s only superpower government is going to be big. “Bunch of” and “problems” are highly subjective. Christ, just the sheer size of the court system to resolve business disputes or regulatory agencies to enforce labor and environmental laws in a relatively free market economy are by necessity “big”.

The propaganda (100+ years and counting) that says otherwise and/or preaches government as THE problem is sold as an economic policy. It’s more of an ideology to justify wealth redistribution to the top in some weird dominator culture.

We do need a fairly large government to administer our basic infrastructure (roads, police, education, etc.) but our government is bloated with too many supposed civil servants adding to little value for the tax dollars that pay their salaries. We don't need bureaucrats trying to expand the purviews of their agencies because they want more people reporting to them and higher salaries.

China is also a superpower.

Totally agree with all of this and I’ll add a robust court system into necessities.

China is economically and trying on the military front but has serious domestic issues and is untested militarily.

Yes but not all civil servants are union worshiping malingering shit bags, some of them get paid to always be right and that one time you’re not can cost a life

...serious domestic issues that won't be helped by maintaining a superpower military strong enough to seriously challenge us from the bottom of the ocean out into space. I think the Chinese will back off a bit as they can see what Russia spends and how little capability they get for their money - second strongest army on the planet has to buy ammo from North Korea, some of which they sold NK years ago - and the real costs involved will steer them back to the strategy of keeping the war economic as much as posssible.
