From my conversation last night at a Puerto Rican restaurant….

The subject of politics came up

Someone asked me if I felt any higher tension in the United States due to all the political turmoil

My answer…. no not really. I think most of the tension is in the media and on social media, for the most part people are more polite than ever. But I also added, but that could be because people are on their best behavior because they don’t want to ignite anything because tensions are a little higher than normal.

How would you guys answer that question??

Joey Rotten is carrying the progressive torch very nicely

This is his losing message

be a failure, be unaccountable, be irresponsible, be lazy and unmotivated. The left continually trashes success, they will trash groups that are successful, they will trash ethnic groups that are successful. Their entire reason for existence is to blame somebody else for their personal deficiencies and look to drag them down to their level in the name of equity and fairness. It is out there for everyone to see and how any decent person can adhere or follow those that espouse and act on this belief system is beyond me.

Individual success is seen by the left as stealing from somebody else.

I've been called out for my tDS on many occasion so I thought I'd provide my perspective on a trump vs biden hall of fame/shame trump vs biden:

trump
  • Fame: Abraham Accords, energy independence, reducing the SALT deduction
  • Shame: mishandling start of the COVID pandemic, tax cuts when the debt is a huge problem, trying to steal the 2020 election (January 6 riot, fraudulent slates of electors, attempting to bully state officials into "finding" votes and/or not certifying results)
biden
  • Fame: emphasis on green/sustainable practices (sometimes going too far though)
  • Shame: the border/immigration, increased government spending, inflation (with the oxymoronic Inflation Reduction Act topping the cake)
What am I missing? Has biden really accomplished almost nothing? Is his redeeming quality that he might not be as bad as trump?

Was there violence resulting from trump's opponent losing the 2016 election?

Was there violence resulting from trump losing the 2020 election?

Which side has demonstrated a propensity for violence if they lose an election?

Well, in the summer of 2016 we sure did hear a lot about violent attacks on people that were those red MAGA caps

Yes, there was violence after the 2020 election. One veteran got shot dead at the capital

Most of the violence was in the summer of 2020, urban blue areas

Trying to deflect attention away from January 6 by posting about the AnTiFa/BLM riots of 2020. Why don't we compromise - throw the participants and instigators of both, including trump, in jail? We can through their enablers in Congress in jail too if it helps. I'm good with that. Are you?

Trump allies drafting plans to erode Fed's independence, WSJ reports
Among the pegs supporting the U.S. dollar's stature as the world's reserve currency, for instance, is the Fed's ability to set monetary policy on its own without political oversight. That status in turn is key to granting the U.S. government a nearly unchecked ability to borrow on global bond markets at relatively low interest rates despite having a $26 trillion debt load, dubbed the "exorbitant privilege."

"If Fed independence is eroded it would be absolutely disastrous," said Citigroup Global Chief Economist Nathan Sheets, who served as under secretary for international affairs for the U.S. Treasury under Trump's predecessor, Democrat Barack Obama.

“When I think about the risk for markets and the dollar, any policy change that eroded Fed independence in an appreciable way would be greeted by the market very vigorously and adversely and be a source of great pressure and volatility," he said. "Any gains a political actor might think they glean would be so small compared to the potential cost that they might have ... it leaves me optimistic it is not a game worth playing."
If true, this is a colossally bad idea.

This is the Trump vs. Biden Part 2 thread so it's an appropriate question for the thread.

I would argue that rather than attempting to distract attention away from information that paints trump in a bad light CH should just submit a clean post without quoting another post.

He should also stop being lazy and do his own research and post the results. It's like he's welfare baby or something. ;)
