Certainly. I'd love to see better physical education, actual cooking classes and finances taught. Focus more of health and wellness.
The problem is we have tons of documented instances, thanks to social media, of LGBTQ teachers going out of their way to talk to children about their lifestyles. Why are they doing this? Why are they not following curriculum? Has that curriculum been properly reviewed by parents in the school district?
Teach school and nothing more to my children.
How about philosophy or religion or ethics?
I'd be good with those as well, especially philosophy and ethics. Religion would be a total pain. While I'd like to see it, there will always be those that are unhappy with the curriculum. Leave that until college when someone has to make a choice to spend their own money to take a course.
After I posted, I looked at my son's school record, and as a sophomore, he will be finished with his math requirements (3 years) this year and only needs one more science class to meet those requirements. Essentially, there is plenty of room for courses outside STEM. My son isn't a "go-getter" when it comes to school either.
