Maybe she was just mindful of the fact you can't technically have a lit 7 candle menorah outside of a Jewish Temple? I doubt that was the case, but I also doubt this is "wildly offensive" either. We don't need to go fishing for stuff that she does that's really bad, sometimes we just need to sit back and let her do the dumb stuff on her own.

I would agree that it's not really wildly offensive. I do find it funny when a leading member of the KKKarens who get so butt hurt over any perceived slight has their own faux paus.

It also might have something to do with a portion of MAGA being anti-Semitic.

Yup, if there's any common ground with the whackos on the right and the whackos on the left, it's that they both have a sad strain of not liking Jews. :ohno:

Yep! They’re both clearly driven by their concern for the Palestinians and peace.

 If they cared about peace they would be honest and admit that the Palestinians are 40-60% responsible for their situation and not try and place the blame on Jews and Israel.

Jews, like people of color, women, etc., are convenient scapegoats for people who don't want to acknowledge their own inadequacies.

So you agree Israel has some culpability and it’s not anti-Semitic to say so? Me too.

Or did I miss where the squad was advocating for non-peaceful solutions?

Or do you really see no difference between MAGA and the left?

Never mind on that last one :)

IMO, Israel and the Palestinians are each 40-60% responsible and it's not anti-Semitic to say so. It could be anti-Semitic to simply blame Israel. I've never heard anyone from the Squat do more than blame Israel while giving the Palestinians a pass for their culpability in the bloodshed.

MAGAt yahoos have lost their sh!t since trump got his ass handed to him in 2020. I'm confident that illiberals will say hold my beer and lose their sh!t if trump wins in 2024.

They did already lose it, back in 2016. Remember, when democracy died along with the republic. End of times indeed.

Other responses:
  • Trump LOVES parliamentary procedure!
  • The problem is, the Speaker actually has to show up and be on the floor or available to w-o-r-k
  • Trump could never do this. It's a job.
  • The idea that Donald Trump would learn how congress works is laughable. I really want to see it.
  • I am willing to bet that Republicans will try to ignore House Rule 26 the way they ignore all other inconvenient rules, regulations, and realities since Trump bought their souls.
  • "Does the Speakership come with immunity from criminal prosecution?"
  • GOP looking for a leader with more indictments than George Santos!
  • It would be really funny if they put the most chaotic person on earth in charge of procedural issues. Republicans, as a party, would implode faster than ever.

Tuberville reports former CIA director Hayden to Capitol Police over tweet
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, asking if the senator should be removed from the Senate Armed Services Committee due to placing holds on military promotions, Hayden responded Monday saying “how about the human race”?

Tuberville characterized the tweet as promoting “politically motivated assassination.”

“This statement is disgusting and it is repugnant to everything we believe in as Americans,” Tuberville said in a statement Tuesday. “Given General Hayden’s long career in Washington, he must have known that, by making such a statement, he was committing a serious crime. His own efforts today to reinterpret what he said are only a tacit admission of guilt.”
...
“I am not a politician, and when I came to Washington, I did not expect to be popular among the clown show; but I certainty did not expect to be lied about on the Senate floor and threatened by former government officials like Michael Hayden,” Tuberville said. “Anyone who actually cares about our country must go on the record and condemn his reckless statements.”
Fvcking hypocritical snowflake. Did he condemn trump for his reckless statements about Milley?
