Re: Freedom In the 50 States
This does not surprise me about ND.
Cutting sales or property tax has been on the books or people's minds for quite some time but there are several prominent legislators that block it.
To say nothing of our Governor who is corrupt (He got in because he had the name, put an R by his name, and has very close ties to the only newspapers in the state (they are all owned by one company)). Land and business deals come to mind and then there is the fact that some of his "intermediators" funded a campaign to get his biggest opponent out during the last election. The campaign worked but the guy he nominated and supported, had a heart attack and died soon after he was elected, re-opening the district. I think it is still in the courts but I haven't checked here these last couple of months.
I wonder how much the state board of education has to do with this as they very tightly control all aspects of education. They have long had a problem with cronyism and steering funds to UND at the detriment of other colleges (plus not wanting to conform to changing technology in the educational areas).North Dakota remains the very worst state in the country for educational freedom. Private schools and homeschools are both more harshly regulated than anywhere else, and the state has no private or public school choice.

Maryland 45 seems about right. If all but three counties had any say, we'd be much higher. My county would rank DFL.

Delaware checks in at 44. With a bit more effort, we can make the bottom 5.

Either way, it is along way from "Liberty and Independence".

Been teaching myself a new graphics software package and tried to make a visualization for this data. The color indicates the partisan vote in the 2020 election.

I wonder how old the data is. Maybe 2019? Iowa passed constitutional carry in 2021 and that is one of the recommendations. Also it says the state spends too much on sanitation. Not sure what that even is???

Not sure what the criteria for that graph are, Pwns, but it's bogus if Cali under that idiot Newsom isn't negative for BOTH personal and economic freedom....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Just #39? Jay Inslee ain’t working hard enough. He should get a hotline to Gavin Newsom.
