As long as people don't sprawl to my area I don't care. :coffee:
Honesty and I agree! We literally just evacuated sprawl to the country.

I was wondering if you were going to give me any grief over my position knowing that you had moved out to the country.

Too long ago. Rail works best in really concentrated spaces. We just have too much room and the desire for people to have space. Building a lot more rail now, in places where it doesn't exist, makes almost no sense, especially when we also are saying that more and more people don't need to go into offices to work. It's great that people like the rail system in Europe or in parts of Japan, but those demographics and distribution of people aren't the same here and aren't going to be.

Even makes less sense to devote any money to new rail not only for the work at home reason, but for the coming advent of automated cars. We can get to the "Minority Report" transportation where basically every individual car is it's own train.
It took time, but passenger railway infrastructure has really benefitted Virginia: https://www.washingtonpost.com/transpor ... nger-rail/

Not saying it'll work in every state, but Virginia can serve as a model for some. 80% of its citizens have easy access to rail now.
Like you said, for some. But that part of Virginia is a very unreproduceable segment of the country. Proximity to the federal government, population density that is already pretty high, concentration of where people want to go (destination) is pretty common. But heck, even for other Northeastern cities (take a Philly for example) you have nothing of that right now. People are spread out, businesses are spread out (not a lot of need to funnel everyone into Philly), and the complexity of the rail line to make it work would be cost prohibitive if it was even realistic to do. And that's right in the Northeast corridor.

Saw a couple tweets but it was quickly debunked. DeSantis signed emergency bill an hour after the local gov signed theirs. I think the leftist narrative was pinning a too slow of a reaction on DeSantis as to why FEMA took too long to get there...

...of course once it was pointed out that FEMA doesn't serve a first responder role that narrative quickly imploded. Go figure.
Patriots and other loyal Americans recognize that DeSantis is a smarter version of fascist Trump

They see the writing on the wall and rightfully fear for America.

Nothing wrong with high rises. Just have to be built and maintained properly

Has Biden been down to Florida to visit the site. The Donks get all upset when the Republican president doesn't visit a disaster.

Seems appropriate after Kamala Harris visited El Paso to see the border crisis.

That drives me crazy and especially did so when I was a cop

The last thing those people need down there is some VIP coming down and fucking things up. He isn't going to help dig any bodies up so stay the fuck away. Go down and talk to the first responders after all the bodies have been bagged

Chillax, Biden* is only going because Heels Up said she was going to go. Now he has to beat her to the punch for PR moves. Sit back and enjoy the theatre.

In Miami weather, 9 - 12 days is the sweet spot for stinkers and poppers
