How secure is this forum?

I know multiple people who have left because they didn't feel safe. Gotta say I'm not sure how safe our comments are.

Secure in what way? I think it's good enough for what it is, but I doubt Ursus uses anything that would stand up to a DDOS attack or even basic hacking software.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:52 pm I know multiple people who have left because they didn't feel safe. This is the only forum that I have to be on my VPN or my IP service provider will not let me open the site. Not sure why (I think Cleets had the same issue going on for him).Ibanez wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 6:55 amSecure in what way? I seem to remember suggesting to Urus to let me hack it once. I never did...perhaps I will today as a white hat.

You are indeed, in many ways.
That nickname might have to stick.
I’m glad I’m at a point in life where I don’t have to worry too much about being cancelled.
My lawyer told me when going through litigation, just assume that everything you type may one day be read by a judge and/or out loud in a public hearing.
Some of the conversations on here might receive a few chuckles and some head shaking.
Of course reincarnation might be a bitch. I’m thinking dismembered vole in a wheat field being picked over by seagulls and ravens for your next life.Winterborn wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 7:27 am
Some smart individual came up with it and who am I to argue with a genius.
Maybe, or I could come back as a mosquito.kalm wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 7:30 amOf course reincarnation might be a bitch. I’m thinking dismembered vole in a wheat field being picked over by seagulls and ravens for your next life.Winterborn wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 7:27 am

This is a HTTPS site employing SHA-256 encryption. To give you an idea of how secure that is - last year at the bank I managed a project that updated all of our certificates to SHA-256 from SHA-1. The signature algorithm is vulnerable to brute force attacks.Winterborn wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 7:17 amThis is the only forum that I have to be on my VPN or my IP service provider will not let me open the site. I just did a quick Penetration test (will do a SQL injection test later if Urus allows me). I didn't see anything alarming and there weren't any High risk findings. I won't post the findings or mention them but if you're curious, most of you have my phone number. I'll share this - the quick test uncovered NO server-side vulnerabilities.
I'll be happy to share it with MrT and Ursus to see if it's anything they can easily (cheaply?) resolve.

Signed,

If I, between two suns, should go away,
No voice would lift to ask another why,
No word would question my retreat, nor sigh,
Nor wonder why I'd chosen not to stay;
For I am a stranger here, of other clay:
A guest within this house, a passerby-
A roving life whose theme has been "Goodbye"
A shadow on the road, a thing astray.
What dim ancestral heritage is mine.
That now awakens in my blood regret?
What destiny is this, what strange design,
That I must seek a haunting silhouette
In unremembered lands my dreams divine,
But cannot quite recall or quite forget? - Louis L'Amour
