Which is it? All history has political bias or all history does not have political bias?

I've support teaching about racism and slavery, they are critical elements in the history of the US. I'm against teaching that slavery and racism are the foundation upon which the US was built. The problem with the way that CRT (and the 1619 Project) is taught is that it can be taken too far by politically biased people trying to push an agenda and indoctrinate students in what to think rather than trying to teach history and how to think.
....maybe not the foundation but it was certainly one of the main support columns, important enough that the bloodiest war in our history was fought over its existence and future as part of the nation.
This brings up the question of what were the "support columns" behind the founding and development of the US?

I would argue that free trade and self-determination were more important and I would guess that there are others. Slavery was a significant factor for half the country, there were other factors that had a greater impact on the entire country.

It's been a valid criticism of the 1619 project since it came out - why was America formed in the first place? They like to argue that it was slavery, but that was one of the more egregious errors (and one they had to actually correct) in that exercise. Slavery obviously existed, but we didn't fight the American Revolution for slavery. Obviously the Civil Was was different, but the Revolution did not have slavery as a cause.

That’s a great question. On the one hand you have all “men are created equal” while on the other…”but not those guys”.

I’d have to brush up on it but weren’t the founders heavily influenced by enlightenment thinkers?

If having dinner with Fuentes makes someone a fascist then honeymooning in the USSR surely makes someone a Marxist.

It wasn’t a honeymoon Mr. Hannity. But along those lines I’m sure you’ll agree that Ron Johnson, Richard Shelby, Rand Paul, etc returned as Marxists after their political trips to Moscow?

Did Ron Johnson, Richard Shelby, Rand Paul, etc take trips to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics?

Your logic on the Fuentes lunch making trump a fascist is weaker than the logic of Bernie's trip to the USSR making him a Marxist but you're going to double down and keep insisting you're correct. :coffee:

False flags every one of them. No surprise Rand Paul turned commie, always thought he spewed the Ayn Rand drivel as a cover

He helps swing our economics back to the middle from the neoliberalism of the past decades.

Without all the nationalistic, authoritarian, racist, and overturning elections stuff.

“No, he was just a Republican.”

Newsom claims he won't oppose Biden in 2024.

He better not. A governor who was the subject of a recall election because he's corrupt has no business running for President.
