Wow! You seem unusually peevish about both Bernie’s and Skelly’s stay and intent in the USSR.

Care to expand on what exactly each of them said?
:dunce: What are you talking about?

Did Jelly stay in the USSR or Russia?

I don't know why Jelly visited Russia but I'm guessing it was to visit family. Not peevish about that at all.

I believe trump first went to the USSR because Gorbachev invited him and he was considering opening a trump property there. Not peevish about that either.

I believe Rand Paul went to Russia for a variety of reasons and I'm not a fan of what I know about that trip.

I believe Bernie formally went to the USSR to establish a sister city relationship but informally went to praise the Soviet model and speak ill of the US and capitalism. By itself, it isn't enough to show Bernie is a socialist/Marxist but combined with his other statements is more damning than anything you or another illiberal has offered that trump is a fascist.
Now you seem doubly peevish.

Here’s an article regarding Bernie’s trip.

"Sanders can also be heard extolling the virtues of Soviet life and culture, even as he acknowledges some of their shortcomings."

Once again, Sander's own words and actions provide more proof that he's a Marxist than anything trump has said or done proves he's a fascist.

How many people do you know who collect Hitler and Nazi memorabilia? Serious question…
Plenty of history nerds and gun guys who have/collect WWII stuff, including Nazi.

Heck, I have a frankensteined 98K, a box of WWII ear 8 MM Mauser rounds, and WWII German bayonet & sheath (was my grandfathers), all with Nazi markings..

Is this poll from the same crowd that assured us that abortion was way too far down everybody's list to be a factor in an election? :coffee:

No, its from libs who hate Trump and would tend to slant their poll that way. So for them to have Biden doing terribly, Trump as less worse, and Trump > Biden is saying something..
Why the left is trying to prevent a promary challenge to an incredibly weak, 80 year old, clearly demented Biden is mind boggling. But I’m glad they are being that dumb.

Who is doing that? Who's getting the Bernie treatment? :?

As before you're drawing wrong conclusions in the same way you and SG did with Dobbs when I tried to help you understand that you were looking at the wrong question. This time your confusion revolves around thinking that Biden vs. Trump will be about Biden's age when the reality will be that it will be about who you hate less. :coffee:

Classic example of Deming's (or Juran's..been so long I forget) famous quote: "Statistics are like bikinis: what they reveal is very interesting, what they don't reveal is vital."

As with Dobbs, where all the traditional indicators pointed one way and the result was wildly different than expected in a none-deeper-red State - Biden/Trump 2 could easily result in the guy thats running for re-election with the lowest poll numbers ever kicking Trump's ass even more authoratatively than he did the first time.

Be careful with the Dobbs thing. Sure, it played a part in the 2022 midterms, but what played a bigger part was bad candidates in key races for the GOP. And despite that, and despite the Dobbs decision, the GOP still took the House. Regardless of what happens, the electorate is crazily divided right now and will likely stay that way. Abortion has never been a wedge issue, the number of people for and against it have been pretty much even for 50 years. The White House has been a personality contest for the past 60 years, if not longer, so that won't change in 2024 - it will be Trump's awfulness compared with Biden's ineptitude, if both of those guys live that long. It's going to be pretty close if they both live to the election. GOP has a pretty decided advantage in the Senate races so that could flip. Won't be big swings anymore in House elections as both blue and red states are decidedly gerrymandered to cut off losses. Looks to be a cluster for the foreseeable future.

And? That asks just the extremes - legal or illegal in all/most cases. People take those to the extremes - some on the left are fine with abortion at birth, some on the right are okay with banning it when the sperm hits the egg. Most people are somewhere in between.

Where elections could be tilted by abortion is when one of those extremes (left or right) run and run on those extreme positions. But those positions normally coincide with weak/bad candidates so it's a debate between whether the abortion policy view did them in or just being a bad candidate overall.

Or abortion is an extremely important issue to women and husbands and fathers, and an extreme position is a big part of being a bad candidate. Especially when rights are directly threatened through legislation and court rulings.

To an abortion supporter, rights are being threatened; to an abortion opponent, lives are being threatened. They both have valid points.

As Ganny said, it's the extremes that don't appeal to people in the center. Banning abortion at 6 weeks with no or limited exceptions for rape/incest turns people off. Allowing abortion in the third trimester up to birth also turns people off.

Right. How frequent are late term abortions and what’s the primary reason for them.

And what percentage of left wing extremists poll positive for on demand through birth?

To an abortion supporter, rights are being threatened; to an abortion opponent, lives are being threatened. They both have valid points.

As Ganny said, it's the extremes that don't appeal to people in the center. Banning abortion at 6 weeks with no or limited exceptions for rape/incest turns people off. Allowing abortion in the third trimester up to birth also turns people off.
Right. How frequent are late term abortions and what’s the primary reason for them.

And what percentage of left wing extremists poll positive for on demand through birth?
And now you want to focus the debate so that you can feel good about yourself because your side isn't as bad as the other side.

I don't know how frequent late term abortions are and the only reason they should happen is the mother's life is at risk.

It doesn't matter "what percentage of left wing extremists poll positive for on demand through birth" if other left-wingers don't repudiate them.
