The difference in this case was that Cuomo was seen as a better person than Trump was. Might still be, Trump's pretty bad, but he's far from the person of virtue people, especially donks, were making him out to be when he was giving those daily COVID briefings and people were fawning over him (while he was hiding data that his decisions had killed thousands more old people than needed to).
