The staggering statistics mean the alleged recidivists got busted a total of about 6,600 times — for an average of more than 20 times each.

You don’t take someone to jail over that, but stroke a ticket. After a couple unpaid tickets, then issue an arrest warrant and next time that they are caught throw their ass in jail.

Shoplifting and fare evasion are small crimes. But many of the people doing it have prior arrests and outstanding warrants for much bigger crimes, so when enforcing those small crimes, you are helping out the coffers of the businesses, the city, and getting more criminals off the street. Win-win-win. Broken windows theory.

Idealistically, isn't it?

Socialism is good conceptually. If everyone were willing to actually work hard and give according to their ability while providing for everyone according to their need, life would be good. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world and people aren't yet evolved enough to put aside ambition and greed and work for the common good and I don't know if we ever will be.

They could sell clothing that said “F*ck insert group of customer base here”. Free to do so, but dumb marketking. Well, that’s what you have going on here. Target gains hardly any customers by selling trams themed clothing targeted at kids, and ‘womens’ bathing suits that have flaps to tuck in their penises. What percent of their customers would even need such a thing? A TINY fraction of 1%? None of the woke trans ideologists are all of a sudden going to say ‘Well, now that they are selling ‘womens’ bathing suits with penis flaps, I am going to start shopping there”. Not going to hurt Target as much as Bud Light or say Walmart (different customer demographics), but they are going to tick off a chunk of their customers. So the question is for Target, if its going to cause you a net loss of customers, why do it?
