How do you anticipate this ending, Hornet? The left has shown they are perfectly fine with the censorship of ANYONE who disagrees with them. They will have ZERO problem with this approach.

As always the censors will eat themselves. It's already begun. Those cheering on the censorship will eventually get censored. Long term the gubmint gets even more authoritarian/totalitarian.

Interesting read on the Gov Whitmer kidnapping saga.
tldr; the kidnappers were organized, trained, funded, and encouraged by FBI informants. So basically the "boogaloo" guys were just an FBI psyop this whole time. But I'm sure Jan 6th was authentic and needed no help from the FBI either. Nothing to see here, move along.

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ke ... -informantThe government has documented at least 12 confidential informants who assisted the sprawling investigation. The trove of evidence they helped gather provides an unprecedented view into American extremism, laying out in often stunning detail the ways that anti-government groups network with each other and, in some cases, discuss violent actions.
An examination of the case by BuzzFeed News also reveals that some of those informants, acting under the direction of the FBI, played a far larger role than has previously been reported. Working in secret, they did more than just passively observe and report on the actions of the suspects. Instead, they had a hand in nearly every aspect of the alleged plot, starting with its inception. The extent of their involvement raises questions as to whether there would have even been a conspiracy without them.
A longtime government informant from Wisconsin, for example, helped organize a series of meetings around the country where many of the alleged plotters first met one another and the earliest notions of a plan took root, some of those people say. The Wisconsin informant even paid for some hotel rooms and food as an incentive to get people to come.

I don’t - I actually enjoy seeing Democrats openly and publicly tell us who they are. In this day and age you need the moderates and the independents, and making overtures towards censorship is not the way you convince them to vote for you
And then of course there is always the lesson in civics that these people invariably get taught by the SCOTUS. Then they get into a tizzy over the courts and the nutroot wing starts talking about court packing, which is another sure loser.
It’s a feedback loop of crazy and personally I don’t think they should be discouraged from it. Quite the opposite

As much as the disinformation is a destructive force and the lack of critical thinking is a dangerous issue, I’m going to err on the side of freedom here. Let the platforms police themselves and keep government out of it.CID1990 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:47 amAgain and again people get spun up over things like thisAZGrizFan wrote:

He’s pretty good with backing up his ideas with facts and citations.
(He can also be really good at triggering both sides).

They may be facts, the problem is that he doesn't understand qualitative factors and the many variables that impact human interactions. Life isn't lived in a petri dish where variables can be isolated and impacts determined with the certainty he seems to think they should be.

Not too many of our friends who proudly proclaimed they were voting for Biden to save America from Trump have defended their hero since January 20. Biden is the worst President since Franklin Pierce.

Why would they if they were only voting against Trump?

Because they thought Biden would unify America and lead us forward. No serious discussion of policy by most of those Einsteins. Kind of like JSO: lots of numbers but no analysis.

Gotcha. I’ve noticed it too. No one should be surprised. Joe’s a corporatist conservative Democrat.

Yup. Joe may have gotten rid of the Twitter war, but his policies are not working.

Already?
Aside from the border crisis which policies have caused damage?
