It's high comedy and I'm still watching. It's too bad Chuck Barris passed away, he would be a perfect moderator for a future debate.

Biden has had a few moments but his mental acuity has not been nearly as bad as I expected.

Trump has been a bombastic bully as expected and he looks like he's ready to have a thumper.

I committed to watching one debate. Like ice pics in the ears. I’ll not watch another one.

Can’t wait for all the rogue “poll watchers” to show up around the country on Election Day

What a shitshow.

I actually look forward to the VP debate for some desperately needed sense of normalcy

Neither Wallace nor Biden differentiated much between solicited absentee ballot, and unsolicted mass mail in. Trump attempted but did a poor job.

Trump should have interrupted a lot less and let Biden talk himself into confusion.

Sounds like it was really bad for Trump, and simply fine for Biden.

I guess Trump didn't condemn white supremacy and refused to acknowledge election results...sounds about right.

I'll have to replay it tomorrow.

People around me, but I'm sure Trump did it...not like he hasn't many times before.

It was recorded, right? So according to Trump is the answer.

Seems like most people think Trump did poorly while opinions on Biden's performance were mixed. It was somewhere between a draw and a Biden win. If Trump is truly behind that isn't good enough.

In 2016 early Oct Trump was behind Clinton by 13% in the RCP national avg (its about 6% now), and the MSM claimed Clinton won all 3 debates (ask JSO), and we know what happened in the election..

All three were horrible. Trump, Biden, and Wallace.

This was and will continue to be a national scar.

I think this platform may be outdated.

We are a society now conditioned to consume information quickly, not thoroughly.

A 2 minute response forces the same 'greatest hits,' that's all you gotta do. Stick to the hits.
It's speaking in Tweet and looking for a viral moment. That is, if you can get a word in.

I do think Trump set a precedence for this in 2016 and both candidates did again tonight.

But we should re-think this entire format.

And cut the fucking mics.

That was pretty much what should have been expected....and also......

AWESOME!

Trump needs to move independents. Don’t think tonight helped much. For Biden, it’s just a matter of not losing. Ties go to the front runner.

The quote was "stand back and stand by."

And then something about ballots in a river and unsolicited ballots that I truly couldn't follow, which BDKJMU alluded to earlier.

Or he wanted to go take a bathroom break. :suspicious:

Here's the full quote: "Proud boys, stand back and stand by, but I'll tell you what, somebody's gotta do something about Antifa and the left."

"The left", or more than half the country: your kids, friends, coworkers, neighbors...

...and that's besides the fact he didn't agree to accept the results of the election.

But yeah, all these people keep telling me how Trump isn't a fascist. (not you specifically)

That was equally as bad as Trump not condemning white supremacists
WALLACE: You have repeatedly criticized the vice president for not specifically calling out antifa and other left-wing extremist groups. But are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha and as we've seen in Portland? Are you prepared to specifically do that?

TRUMP: Sure, I'm prepared to do that. But I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing. If you look, I'm willing to do anything. I want to see peace.

WALLACE: Then do it, sir.

BIDEN: Do it. Say it.

TRUMP: You want to call them? What do you want to call them? Give me a name, give me a name, go ahead — who would you like me to condemn?

WALLACE: White supremacists, white supremacists and right-wing militia.

TRUMP: Proud Boys, stand back and stand by. But I'll tell you what: Somebody's got to do something about antifa and the left. Because this is not a right-wing problem — this is a left-wing problem.

Well my MAGA siblings thought it was a disaster for Trump. I guess it was a culmination of circus that is Trump Term 1.

It was a shit show - unless you're a died in the wool Trump/Biden supporter. I'm guessing you loved the fact that the man didn't have the self control to shut his mouth and let a moderate ask a question or let his opponent answer his question. Debates are to make your case, and more importantly, make it to those undecided voters. Trump played to his base, who wouldn't leave him anyway.
