To the best of my knowledge that is correct. I will also add that I have not followed it as closely the past few weeks so something might been done since then.

Work has kept me from doing much research here lately. :ohno:
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court already ruled on it before the election.
The Republican legislature established the voting rules.
The AG doesn't think it violates state law.
The election has been certified.

Not sure how you're wanting it to be handled at the state level. :suspicious:
I am not discussing the certification of the election process, that has been ruled on. What I am interested in is how the Pennsylvania election procedures were changed and in their manner.

I really don't care who passed what (both parties are crooked) and the AG's response did not address the root cause of the argument. The absentee ballot issue was ruled on early by the court but the challenge that the the new voting changes were not done per the Pennsylvania constitution has not been resolved yet (to my knowledge, if there is a local (Ganny?) that knows more I would be interested in hearing it). And I am not talking about the weak Trump lawsuits, as that is a different topic.

There are a few threads going on in the four states that are named in the Texas lawsuit that are outside of the election results. They deal with procedural changes in the election process by those states passed under the guise of being necessary due to the current covid conditions.

As far as I am concerned Biden won. I just find it interesting that some changes were done in such a manner that they did not follow the regular guidelines as outlined by the state constitution (as in Pennsylvania).

Texas changed their election procedures via the Governor's emergency powers.

1) Because it just extended the early voting period but didn't change anything else. And as far as I can tell, he followed proper procedures to do so.

2) He had the authority to do so under the sections the Governor mentioned.

As far as I am concerned (and based on my reading of section 418) he had that authority. Which is different than what I mentioned above.

My curiosity lies in the areas were proper procedure was not followed and why. Nothing more. My voting beliefs are separate from my looking into what is going on due to COVID and have no bearing on my opinion. It is called being objective and is something I try to do in all areas of my life, not just when it is "convenient".

Tuesday, December 8th, was Safe Harbour day.

Reuters Link

It is a deadline, set by a U.S. law from 1887, for states to certify the results of the presidential election. Meeting the deadline is not mandatory but it provides assurance that a state’s results will not be second-guessed by Congress.

The safe harbor date falls six days before the meeting of the Electoral College, in which slates of “electors” formally select the presidential nominee who won the popular vote in their home states. A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to capture the presidency. Biden has amassed 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

This year, the safe harbor date falls on Dec. 8.

Once that date passes, Trump can still press on with lawsuits seeking to overturn Biden’s victory.

But the legal campaign becomes even more difficult, since judges will likely say it is too late to overturn the results.

The Trump campaign played down the deadline in a statement on Tuesday, signaling it would continue with legal challenges into January.

This is my understanding of it as well. Basically the election laws were changed outside of the state legislatures. That is the issue at hand. And I don't think SCOTUS will hear the case.

I called that right after the election. The best thing for the House would be to NOT re-elect her. HOWEVER - she has done a good job tempering the socialists. The Squad so have some honor and just split off as the Communist Party.

There's been a lot of "struggling with cognitive decline" story lines surrounding the old Donk leaders (Feinstein, Pelosi) in the last day or two. I think the Squad types are going to go for broke in the near future.

It's looking more and more like the guardrails will hold. But any of you people who continue to support the Republican Party at this point need to take a serious look in the mirror.

Aw shucks.
The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a lawsuit backed by President Donald Trump to overturn Joe Biden’s election victory, ending a desperate attempt to get legal issues rejected by state and federal judges before the nation’s highest court.

The court’s order was its second this week rebuffing Republican requests that it get involved in the 2020 election outcome. The justices turned away an appeal from Pennsylvania Republicans on Tuesday.

The Electoral College meets Monday to formally elect Biden as the next president.

Trump had called the lawsuit filed by Texas against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin “the big one” that would end with the Supreme Court undoing Biden’s substantial Electoral College majority and allowing Trump to serve another four years in the White House.

Yes. But we still have a situation in which a major political Party went along with trying to overturn the Will of the People expressed through a free and fair election. We have a big problem.

Also I fully expect to see continued efforts to overturn the Will of the People from that Party. I think today's development hurts their effort. But they're not going to give up. At this point it is a totally corrupt political Party.
