Yes, you are missing the point by trying to justify the one sidedness of the media by people falling for it. Here's where I have a problem. These are completely made up numbers but I think:
50% of conservatives think Fox is one-sided (99% of liberals do)
20% of liberals think NBC, CBS, ABC are one-sided
I hate to tell you but after watching many hours of Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS, Fox offers the most balanced news, BUT that's only 80/20. The others are all 98/2.
Makes you start to wonder how much was true in the Obama years as well.

Re: 2020 General Election
You may have seen video of Trump telling Lesley Stahl that, before COVID-19, the US had its best economy ever. Stahl said "you know that's not true" then Trump insisted that it was because it was the lowest unemployment rate ever (it wasn't...while it's been a long time the US unemployment rate has been as low as 1.2%).
It WAS the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. But, overall, there is no way it was even close to the best economy ever. I compared the three years of Trump pre COVID, 2017 through 2019, to the best three years of Clinton, 1997 through 1999.
The unemployment rates were a little lower 2017 through 2019. The average monthly rate was 4.0% (range 3.5% through 4.7%) vs. an average monthly rate of 4.6% (range 4.0% through 5.3%).
However:
During 1997 through 1999 the economy added an average of 267,000 jobs per month. during 2017 through 2019 it was 187,000.
During 1997 through 1999 the average annual Growth Domestic Product growth was 4.6%. During 2017 through 2019 it was 2.5%.
During 1997 through 1999 the value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 78%. During 2017 through 2019 it was 43%.
I won't go into detail for other Administrations but there were three year periods with better GDP growth than Trump's three years prior to COVID during the George H.W. Bush, Clinton, H.W. Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, and Eisenhower Administrations. I stopped going back after that.
And there was a three year period during the Obama Administration, 2013 through 2015, that barely missed having the average GDP growth of Trump's first three years. It was 2.47%.
The idea that we had the best economy ever during the Trump Administration prior to COVID is outright ridiculous. When Trump tells you that he is trying to B.S. you. It wasn't even CLOSE to the best economy we've had.

I think there might still be a lot of potential Trump voters who aren't being honest with pollsters so I have no idea what will happen. Could be close or it could be a landslide for Biden.kalm wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 5:58 am Why Trump is toast.

I do think that a landslide for Biden would be much more of a rebuke for Trump than a mandate for Biden and progressive policies. That doesn’t tell us anything about a Biden presidency, of course. You don’t get, say, an extra Supreme Court appointment just for getting more votes than any presidential candidate in American history. But it will be part of his mandate, part of the continuing realignment of American politics, and the most vociferous rejection of a sitting president in decades—and possibly in any of our lifetimes.

Re: 2020 General Election
You think? The Trump supporters on this site have said they'd lie to a pollster if asked - and then bitch about the integrity of polls. I think 2020 is different. We've had 4 years of division, crisis, gaffes, MSM, etc... His supporters are so much more vocal now than in 2016. I'd say some still lie about it (punk bitches) but not nearly as much as 2016.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 7:49 amI think there might still be a lot of potential Trump voters who aren't being honest with pollsters so I have no idea what will happen.
