I do think that makes a difference. Dems pulled out all the stops to make sure he didn't repeat. Any other questions?

Do we really want a president that's not smart enough, not clever enough to outfox the Democrats?

Anyone who wasn't clever enough to outfox those losers must be an even bigger loser, the loser of all losers. How did we ever elect such a colossal loser as POTUS?

I wish Trump were more likable, but he was better on policy than Biden by a factor of 100 and I can only assume the same with Hillary. Although, she may have had more balls/brains left than Biden to not bow down to the far left.

Trump > Hillary > Biden in that respect.

You should really like Desantis then. He’s Trump (from a policy standpoint) but much more polished and professional.

Yep.

-Combativeness of Trump.
-Trolls the left almost as well as Trump.
-Logical background of a Harvard law grad.
-Governance skills in one of largest, most difficult states to run
-Good public speaker.
-Military vet.

He doesn’t have to. He’s Trump without the mean tweets and snarkiness. Most Trump supporters that held their noses and pulled the lever for him only did it because they could look past those glaring personality flaws and voted for policies. Now we don’t have to do that. Nor do those who changed their minds and decided to vote Biden because they didn’t “like” Trump after having voted for him in ‘16.

Best case scenario: Bumbling Joe is deemed unfit, the Empty suit Kamala becomes president, fucks things up for a couple years and DeSantis can come riding in to the rescue.

If you want a a POTUS that's difficult with people and acts likes a Twitter troll, then I guess your set. His governing and military experience (even though he was JAG not a warfighter) are critical, IMO. I know nothing of him aside from his association with Trump (and that's a red flag, for me).

Aside from seeing his name in the press, i'm not sure what's so special about him.

His wife and her appearance don't matter. That's just superficial crap (but she is a looker and a CofC grad.)

I think it's almost a requirement. To win the Conk nomination a candidate needs the support of Trumpers. To win the general election a candidate needs to be able to convince enough middle-of-the-road voters that he or she is a reasonable person and not an unstable bully like Trump.

Pretty much this. Desantis has to seriously fuck up to not be the front runner in '24. Even better would be if Trump serve as "hypeman" for his run. The Leftist/msm outrage will be delicious.

Saw a headline that Desantis won a straw poll (polls!!!) amongst conk candidates and was the clear front runner at this point. More polls like this offers Trump an out, whether he takes it or not remains to be seen.
