Naturally, a lot of blue cbeckmarks on Twitter are really livid. One Vox writer Tweeted a letter she wrote to her boss to report Matt Iglesias for it, saying it made her feel "unsafe". This is a letter that Noam Chomsky signed.

Just start calling these people "the alt left".
I don’t think these petunias know what “unsafe” really is

Well, some Leftists claim "Cancel Culture" doesn't exist (kinda like antifa) so there's that.

Oh and:
Yup. He and Jordan Peterson and the rest of the "intellectual dark web" sounded the alarm when the mercury rising years ago and they were ignored and mocked.

Golic and Wingo lost their morning radio show on ESPN.
Former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson; NBA analyst Jay Williams; and “SportsCenter” anchor Zubin Mehenti will replace “Golic & Wingo” as the lead-off to ESPN’s morning audio schedule.
Not sure if this is all part of the current movement, but the timing makes you go hmmmm.

FedEx is asking the Redskins to change the name. I believe it's the largest team sponsor (and stadium namesake).

Reports are Nike and PepsiCo may follow soon.

Pathetic it'll take corporate America to change the name instead of doing it because it's right. But whatever, as long as it happens.
The NFL has zero cred - it has to hurt waking up every day to being Colin Kaepernick's bitch.

The "Market" is the answer for many things, and this is another example. It is the best platform for people to "vote". The scope is narrow and there is no pork involved. There are no politicians getting rich off of a change. There are no lawyers bringing cases to court. And there is little chance for a reversal in the future due to political election reversals. It's a beautiful thing.

I'm a Redskin fan. If the name changes, I can live with the awkwardness. It's not the first time a sports franchise has changed it's name, and it won't be the last. I wasn't around to live through the change from Highlanders to Yankees. People will get use to it and move on.

So who is next? Cleveland Indians? Golden State Warriors? San Diego St. Aztecs? Will PETA push to ban animal names?

A bunch of people in media, entertainment, and academia signed a letter condemning cancel culture.

https://www.mediaite.com/news/j-k-rowli ... l-culture/

Ezra Klein pretty much muzzled Iglesias.

Boy what a shit show

I always knew Vox was a steaming pile but Ezra Klein has showed all the cards now

Obviously Yglesias agreed to delete all of his social media history and then also agreed to go dark for awhile

Then Klein dunks on him by subtweeting at him with some a Jelly-esque passive aggressive bullshit

This is another own goal by the supposed free media

All will be forgotten once these Pravda wannabes are covering for President Biden though, so no worries

Free media indeed

It is either laugh or drink, and both my liquor cabinet and fridge are running low after last weekend.

I fully expect NDSU to have to change the name of "The Bison" within my lifetime as some tribes consider Bison to be scared and cultural appropriations. I really hope I am just being a pessimist though.
