Three balloons visible to the naked eye flew over the US when Trump was President?houndawg wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 2:59 pmSee, you're acting stupid on purpose. Sure seems like something the establishment would have used to show Trump was Xi's puppet.
If it did happen, was our DOD working for China at the time? I'd like to see a name associated with this DOD informant.

Do you not see how Biden looks as feckless as usual, so the media trots out some anonymous official to throw out a logical fallacy? Did critical thinking just drop off a cliff in recent years? I've never seen so much obfuscation of topics in my life. Even IF it happened under Trump, it doesn't absolve Joe of his handling of the situation.

As with most anything in life, a violent response should be a last resort. There's almost always a better solution.
I think the US military is nicely handling the balloon incident, and I imagine they're working with better info and expertise than we have.

Re: China
Lol there was less risk to lives and infrastructure shooting it down over Alaska than there was of risk of hitting a random fiahing boat or ship a few miles off the coast of SC. It literally crossed over close to 3,000 miles of nothing in Alaska.∞∞∞ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:06 amYup, shooting it down over territorial waters was the best scenario. It was identified and tracked before it entered the border, we likely warned military sites to hide things before it flew above them, we probably jammed the equipment or even intercepted data transmissions, we didn't risk lives or infrastructure shooting it over land, and now we can safely retrieve and study as much of it as possible.
But I'm sure we'll have our armchair generals tell us why NORAD, Air Force, and the DoD were wrong.
And God bless the men and women who valiantly fought in yesterday's Battle of Myrtle Beach.
And there was certainly no more risk to lives and infrastructure shooting it down over rural areas/fed or state lands of MT, WY, ND, SD, NE, KS, than there was of hitting a boat or ship just off the SC coast.

According to the animation in the below link

The Chicom spy balloon flew across:
1. Alaska
2. Montana
3. N Dakota (sliver)
4. S Dakota
5. Nebraska
6. Kansas
7. Missouri (sliver)
8. Arkansas
9. Tennessee
10. Alabama (sliver)
11. Georgia (sliver)
12. South Carolina
Red states flown over 12.
Blue states flown over: 0
Before anyone says GA ain’t red anymore, has a conk gov along with every statewide elected seat, and conks control both houses state legislature, and conks control.
So. a spy balloon from red China programmed to only fly over red states. Hmm…

I heard this question posed on Fri and I never heard an answer. Given it flew over all these red states, could a red state gov have ordered their state’s air national guard to shoot it down? The governor’s do control their national guards unless they have been federalized.
