Judge fines Trump, lawyer for ‘frivolous’ Clinton lawsuit
In a blistering filing on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks accused Trump of a “pattern of abuse of the courts” for filing frivolous lawsuits for political purposes, which he said “undermines the rule of law” and “amounts to obstruction of justice.”

“Here, we are confronted with a lawsuit that should never have been filed, which was completely frivolous, both factually and legally, and which was brought in bad faith for an improper purpose,” he wrote.

I was reading a guys opinion on this and he felt Trump and his lawyers knew this would never go anywhere, but it put a layer of client attorney privilege on the documents he submitted with his lawsuit. Essentially making it so they wouldn't disappear.

Trump declares himself the winner of his own club championship - in the Trumpiest way ever
Trump announced on his social media platform on Tuesday that he won the Senior Club Championship at Trump International Golf Club in unincorporated West Palm Beach last weekend, despite not playing the first round of the tournament.
...
Trump told tournament organizers he played a strong round on the course Thursday, two days before the tournament started, and decided that would count as his Saturday score for the club championship. That score was five points better than any competitor posted during Saturday's first round.
Does lying still matter because I call bullshit.

kalmy, how difficult would it be to score a 40 using the Modified Stableford method? Wouldn't he have to average better than a birdie per hole?

It has to be a net score so possible but highly unlikely. Tge Tour record is 34 shot by Cam Smith last year.

Using the Thursday round for Saturday to different pin placements and with different weather is complete and utter cheating bullshit.

He’s done it for years. Rick Reilly’s “Commander in Cheat” highlights it.

From what I've read with the Modified Stableford method, the better you play the more points you score.
The strategy in Modified Stableford formats can, in most instances, be summed up in three words: Go for it. This scoring format rewards risk-taking on the golf course. For instance, if the professional is facing a carry over water that he normally wouldn’t try, the Modified Stableford format presents an incentive to go for it. A birdie is worth twice as many positive points (2) as a bogey is worth punitive points (-1). Eagles offer huge payoffs (5 points) and the worst a player could possibly do would be a double bogey (-3 points) at which point he could pick up his ball and carry on to the next hole. Those golfers who make a few bogeys but also make a lot of birdies or eagles are more likely to be atop the leaderboards.

I was assuming modified as that’s all I’ve ever played in. Still the only person who thinks he actually won is Donald.

I always thought Obama was a great speech giver. His ad lib stuff wasn't great, but that's hard for most people. As Obama grew more into a regular politician I didn't care much for the content of the speeches, but he delivered them well.

People say that, and I have tried to find it in his speeches but I could never do it. He reaffirmed my rule to only read the transcripts.

I'm like that with the State of the Union addresses now - why anyone would ever sit through one of those live and listen to the whole thing is beyond me. They're terrible. I think Clinton might have been the last one I listened to in full, he wasn't too bad. Everyone since has been unbearable. Plus the format of those things have just gotten awful. I'm in favor of going back to Presidents just submitting a written version and calling it a day.

I could get behind the written version. It is basically a campaign speech these days.

Trump, Turning Up Heat, Raises Specter of Violence if He Is Charged
In an overnight social media post, former President Donald Trump predicted that “potential death and destruction” may result if, as expected, he is charged by the Manhattan district attorney in connection with hush-money payments to a porn star made during the 2016 campaign.
Demonstrates that he cares more about himself than the country he wants to lead.

 Jesus H. Are you kidding me? The whole Dem party talks that way. Trying to stake claim to the moral high ground as well, when none is deserved.

I laugh at both parties attempts to stake a claim to moral high ground. Both have forfeited rights to that claim.

Don't be obtuse. Dems and progressives don't talk like trump but like trump and Reps, they pick and choose when to apply their moral standards.

Ok. Sorry.

This continues to be a fascinating development….the choosing and consistent application of rapidly changing moral standards.

It's not about whose morals should be applied it's about applying your morals consistently. Neither side does that.

I think it’s about both. Stringent and silly morals can induce hypocrisy inconsistency. Go to church one day/week so you can be an asshole the other 6. ;)

But yes, I agree both sides are guilty. Heck we are all guilty from time to time.
