So you think Trump’s policies and leadership serve blacks better?Pwns wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 7:03 am
Just an observation here: Conservatives (and your left-leaners who are not Social Justice Warriors) generally see not being racist as not judging individuals as being part of monoliths.
Liberals (specifically the woke type) think anti-racism means retweeting as many "journalists of color" as possible and getting a selfie with the black restaurant owner that makes the great kale soup. They think people delude themselves into being racist because they have a black friend when in fact (IMO) they're the ones that have deluded themselves into think they're making things right and have some paternalistic contempt for minorities. And it's that contempt that apparently slipped by Biden's verbal filter, here.
He is wrong. A person's "blackness" or "whiteness" isn't and shouldn't be defined by political affiliation. It's almost like a purity test.
Prior to Covid black unemployment and poverty rates were at record lows. More funding for HBCUs. Criminal justice reform with 90% of those benefiting from reduced sentences being black. He's also for school choice which is good for minority families so their kids aren't stuck in inner city schools.kalm wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 7:28 amSo you think Trump’s policies and leadership serve blacks better?Pwns wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 7:03 am

Don’t disagree on that principle but that’s not the point. The point is Biden thinks he’s a better leader for blacks which I think he can make a strong point for. Saying so doesn’t necessarily equate to racial division.

Except "I'm a better choice for blacks" isn't what he said.
That's not what he said, not even close.

Except I’m not a Bidenster and Trump doesn’t even pretend to be complimentary but yeah....both sides do it. I’ll stand corrected on what he actually said but good god this is all getting tedious.CID1990 wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 8:29 am^^^^ Here you go, folkskalm wrote:

This is exactly what Trumpsters do for Trump
Parse out really stupid tripe that comes out of his mouth and tell us what he really meant
And here’s the equivalent anti-Trumpy response in photonegative:
Y’all house negroes better keep your black asses on the plantation

I love how badly says "Thats not what he said"
Poor Clitz.
In describing Joe Biden's racist remark, I used "literally" in the context of definition 1b (above).Merriam Webster wrote: Definition of literally
1 : in a literal sense or manner: such as
a: in a way that uses the ordinary or primary meaning of a term or expression
He took the remark literally.
a word that can be used both literally and figuratively
b: used to emphasize the truth and accuracy of a statement or description.
The party was attended by literally hundreds of people.
c: with exact equivalence : with the meaning of each individual word given exactly
The term "Mardi Gras" literally means "Fat Tuesday" in French.
d: in a completely accurate way a story that is basically true even if not literally true

1. I did not quote anything or anyone (See emphasis above).
2. You don't know what the definition of literally is (it has many meanings). In describing Joe Biden's racist remark, I used "literally" in the context of definition 1b (above).Merriam Webster wrote: Definition of literally

It was a gaffe, no doubt, But he's got the Black vote locked up. The only questions involve whether it'll be a little above 90% or a little below 90% and whether Blacks will have high turnout relative to historical turnout.
