My freedom(s) most certainly don't rely on you or anyone else....unless you mean you and everyone else just minding their own fucking business.

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
We were told we'd go back to normal when we got a vaccine...
...then it became when 60% of the gen pop got vaxxed...
...now it's get vaxxed or lose your job...
...I guess the next step is shipping those not in compliance off to camps?

I’m not sure you understand how all of this works.
If you were alone on the planet, no human could take away your freedom. Nature could I suppose.
Otherwise, you’re freedom is partly contingent on others. We’re still just arguing degrees and risk tolerance.

My personal favorite is:
...you're a hero for working while we develop a vaccine and I know you caught COVID working on the front lines, but now you're a selfish asshole for not getting the vaccine. Granny killer.

Question for you both. After almost 2 years of being consistently wrong about all of this do you at some point turn on the politicians, grifters, and companies like Fox News who fed you the BS while getting vaxxed and/or requiring their employees to be vaxxed and socially distance?SDHornet wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 2:33 pmYeah, klam has some good one liners in this thread.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 2:09 pm

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
The only thing I have been wrong on was believing the vaccines would hold out longer. I didn't anticipate a change on the opposite side of the virus changing the structure of the binding site area so much, that it allowed the virus to defeat the vaccine antibodies. Thought it would take more than roughly 8 amino acid changes to affect a 10,000 amino acid structure.kalm wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 3:26 pmQuestion for you both. Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
Some maths for you guys.
According to the Pfizer study:
8 out of 18,198 vaxxed caught COVID = .044%
162 out of 18,325 Unvaxxed caught COVID = .88%
The relative risk reduction is therefore .044%/.88%, which equals 5%. Take that from 100 and that is how you get a 95% relative risk reduction (efficacy).
Now let's calculate absolute risk reduction. Take .88% - .04% and you get .84%
Meaning that those who were vaxxed had a 0.84% reduction in catching COVID versus the unvaccinated.

Some people go to extreme measures to come up with an excuse not to get vaxxed. It's a choice, make the choice, but don't bore us with you BS. Mucho shenanigans in your Biden math.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 5:46 pm Some maths for you guys.

The facts published by the manufacturer weigh into that choice. 95% efficacy sounds a whole lot better than a 0.84% reduction. Wonder why they use the 95%

Big Pharma didn't get big by accident. All boils down to money and who's pockets it is going into.

So you won't buy something because a large company makes money on it, queue the petroleum industry or brewery industry, and so on and so on. Just another excuse. Make you decision and save some bandwidth.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 9:14 amThe facts published by the manufacturer weigh into that choice. 95% efficacy sounds a whole lot better than a 0.84% reduction. I think everybody has made a decision already. Now they are just trying to convert the other side to their particular brand of beliefs.Gil Dobie wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 10:28 amSo you won't buy something because a large company makes money on it, queue the petroleum industry or brewery industry, and so on and so on. It is reminding me more and more of when the Jehovah Witnesses come around. Except in their case, they leave once they have heard that I am not interested.
In all transparency, I think both sides have valid points.
