No, no and agree.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 2:11 pmAre you trying to say that they're suffering is the same during covid as it was pre-covid? IMO, more people are suffering and their suffering is worse than it was pre-covid.Gil Dobie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 2:02 pm
Hint: They suffered pre-covid. Just that some people are realizing it because it fits their covid narrative, and use it as fear porn.
You conveniently didn't mention the mask fear porn, which lead to the lockdowns and restrictions, which lead to additional suffering by everyone.
I intentionally, not conveniently, didn't mention mask fear porn because I agree with you on that.
As I've stated, I'm not arguing against the restrictions but to pretend that they didn't come with costs or to minimize those costs is as disingenuous as spreading fear porn.

CA Gov announces end of lockdown on June 15. Doesn't that seem kind of stupid? 2 months away? How would he know what conditions might be like in two months? Oh wait, trying to prevent being recalled.

The booster tracker you just received upgrades you to 5G. The original BGTD (Bill Gates Tracking Device) didn't have it.

They replaced the metal plate in Ibanez's head with a plastic one so he should be ok. Every time Mrs. Ibanez would rev up the microwave, he'd piss his pants and forget who he was for about half an hour.

CA 7 day avg for tests five was 115k on 4/5 which matches pre-flu season 7 day average number of late Sep/ early Oct.
7 day avg for cases is 1468 on 4/5 which is comparable to a year ago when testing was just starting.
Deaths have bottomed out at a 7 day avg of 9 as of 4/5 and CA hasn't been that low since this all started last March.
Why the fuck are we still shutdown.

Crises including pandemics expose many underlying problems.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 1:30 pm Pandemic masks ongoing child abuse crisis as cases plummet
Everything's fine. Restrictions are saving lives. Nobody is suffering. Look the other way and smile behind your mask.A loss in reports means greater potential for harm because “there has not all of the sudden been a cure for child abuse and neglect,” said Amy Harfeld, an expert in child abuse deaths with the Children’s Advocacy Institute.

Before the pandemic, Marc Lerario seemed to be turning a corner, despite his record of a dozen assault charges — including domestic violence incidents against Ashley. He quit smoking and drinking, worked out, and watched movies or played video games with the family, Belson said. But in April 2020, Marc’s grandmother died of COVID-19 at a nursing home outside Philadelphia. He was hours away and never got to say goodbye, and he spiraled into depression.

Nearly a quarter of families didn’t participate in virtual school, so it wasn’t unusual that even enthusiastic, high-achieving learners like Ava might never log in to the district’s platforms, he said. Some parents, frustrated by technology and access issues, chose to go it alone, and Palazzo didn’t blame them. The usual truancy rules, in which the school must report to CPS any unexplained absence of more than six consecutive days, didn’t apply based on new state guidelines. Palazzo said the school called all 550 students at the start and made at least five attempts to reach Ava’s family about absences, via a letter, phone calls and email.

“I don’t believe this would have happened this way if not for the pandemic pushing him beyond the brink,” Soberick said of Marc Lerario. “This is a horrific, horrible main example, but I’m sure similar things to a lesser degree happened not just in Carbon County — throughout Pennsylvania and the nation.”

Just like to point out that the restrictions might be saving more lives than they are costing but it's not all sugar and spice, there are definitely costs.

Granted.
It was always going to be tough decisions and weighing compromises. People have deferred care, suffered, and sometimes die as a result of hospitals being overwhelmed too.

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
Got my first Pfizer shot scheduled for Sunday, second dose scheduled for May 4th. Doing it through CVS and have to drive about 30 minutes away or so to get to one that had an appointment. Could've waited for the county if I wanted to, but I was only able to register this week (Phase 1B just opened on Monday and I classify as a manufacturing worker) - they aren't scheduling 1B's yet so this will save me at least a week and likely something closer to several weeks or a month. Plus apparently their going to pick and choose to prioritize in Phase 1B, so being a white male under the age of 50 I was bound to not really be prioritized (and they did ask all the questions, including age and race).

Umm...vaccines are how we’re going to reach herd immunity the fastest.
India is another example of one more place that seemingly avoided the heavier outbreaks...until now.

I understand that, but vaccine's are not the only way herd immunity is reached.
