I have no issue with that if I heard what was going on correctly. They have a law about quarantine; which is totally reasonable. The guy violated the law. He showed total disregard for people in the society around him by doing so. It's not an "it only affects me" situation.

What gets me is that most of the people in this country support seat belt laws when, realistically, the only person somebody who doesn't wear a seat belt puts at risk is themselves. Yet there is the BIG issue with having laws trying to control the spread of a contagious disease where the person who violates the law has potential for sickening and maybe even killing other people.
You have no problem with it if it were to happen in this country? While thousands of illegals STREAM over the southern border every day with 20% of them COVID-positive? Cops bust down my door without a warrant and there will be return fire in their direction.

You are NOT a conservative OR a libertarian. You should just admit it that you've drunk the koolaid and gone over to the dark side.

I'll say this again. Where the fuck were you and your stance when my wife was going through chemotherapy during the H1N1 pandemic? You could have killed her by not wearing your mask, staying home and getting a 15% effective flu vaccine.

I honestly don't give a shit, but the point is still valid. And that point is, where do we draw the line? Where do we say everyone has to comply with the opposite of 100's of years pandemic experience, or do we ask those most susceptible to isolate?

We know how it worked out for my wife and all those currently immunosuppressed. They didn't/don't get respect.

I have gotten two Moderna shots. But I will continue to wear a mask when I do something like go to a store. The reason is that the purpose of wearing a mask was never about me. Fully vaccinated, at least for now, I do not have to worry about serious illness or death from COVID. Also, the chances that I will get sick at all are small. But there is some chance.

We are in a societal effort to try to end this pandemic. I have no problem with wearing a mask when I go into public settings just in case I become infected in spite of my vaccinated status and could potentially spread the virus. Also, I want to put others who may come close to me at ease. And what the HELL is so difficult about wearing a mask when you go shopping? I mean really.

I think there is something wrong, mentally, with people who get all in a wad about wearing a mask. It's just ridiculous. And the idea that wearing a mask does not reduce the risk that you will pass the virus on if you are infected just isn't tenable. You shouldn't even need studies to tell you that. It's an obvious physical reality. Wondering about whether or not wearing a mask will reduce the risk that an infected person will transmit a respiratory virus is like wondering if a baby wearing a diaper will reduce the risk that it'll wet the bed. It's just ridiculous.

Thanks for agreeing to what we all agreed to do years ago. Not go out sick and spread whatever you have.

Not everyone has to comply with the UK's mandatory 10 day quarantine. Those choosing to travel abroad do. They made a choice. Social contract, etc.

I know dozens who’ve had it. A couple who were hospitalized. One died. At least one with pronounced long haulers. Mostly those who play loose with protocols but a few who were pretty damn good including several teachers and school aged kids.

It was tongue-in-cheek and probably in poor taste.

I've been fortunate, I only know a couple of people who've had it and no one close to me. Following the protocols reduces the risk but doesn't eliminate it.

I’ve been accused of fear porn...yet I’ve socially distanced golfed and watched football on our porch with a few buddies since last Spring. So...wrong.

And heaven forbid we over-reacted to the flu.
