Even by your incorrect math, I'm still correct. 75% and 90% both are a huge percent of the people over-reacting and under-reacting, even though I think you are low. CID is correct, all the lockdowns and restrictions are election related. Who is estimating hospitalizations due to Covid, I just follow our county Covid page. 40,000 plus confirmed cases, 2152 hospitalizations, 413 deaths.
Let me help you out here.

9/10 = 90% estimating hospitalization too high.
3/4 = 75% estimating hospitalization too high

90 + 75 = 165
165/2 = 82.5% estimating hospitalization too high.
Thank you for making my point :kisswink:

I just did something that I find interesting. I kept seeing people do things like compare Florida to California and make statements about what that means in terms of COVID-19 restrictions. So I decided to see if I could find a list of States ranked by COVID-19 restrictions and run a correlation of those rankings vs. State by State COVID-19 death rates.

I found a ranking of States by COVID-19 restrictions at https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/r ... tions.html. DC is included so I included it.

Then I went to the Worldometers site and to the State by State deaths per 100 million population numbers (death rate) numbers as of 5:22 Central Time today. I used Spearman's correlation analysis because a ranking is an ordinal variable.

The output is for a two tailed test and the result showed 91% confidence of an association such that States with fewer COVID-19 restrictions tend to have higher death rates. But I think a one tailed test is justified in this instance because it's fair to test for the expected affirmative. The expected affirmative is that COVID-19 restrictions should tend to reduce death rates.

And if you do a one tailed test on that basis you get 95% confidence that there is an association such that States with fewer COVID-19 restrictions tend to have higher COVID-19 death rates that cannot be accounted for by random chance.

The question is “how much higher”, and was it worth destroying the country and our economy?

The country and economy have been destroyed by pandemic restrictions? Or did it expose our weaknesses?

Should we abandon ship?

Is that REALLY a serious question?

All the pandemic exposed was our frailties and ability to be controlled by fear.

Said the dudes yelling at nurses to give them hyrochloroquine to treat the hoax that was pushing them toward their last breath alone without family around...

They never let fear control them. They’re the true winners!

And yes it was a serious question. Do you think all of this started in Jan 2020? :suspicious:

Goood boy! You caught that reference.

Similar to the Great Recession, the Cold Civil War has many causes from both sides of the spectrum. And yes, Trump was an important driver of at least when Jan 6th happened and how it happened.

When ELSE was 1/6 going to happen? It was going to happen on whatever day they were certifying the vote. Trump only controlled that to the extent he fought the results which delayed the certification.

And unlike some here, i actually believe the events are intertwined and connected (although not in the ways those who see racism around every corner might).

Jan 6th didn’t just happen as a result of the election either.

But don’t be coy. Feel free to expand your theory. I like connecting dots.

The fact that you think being banned from Youtube means they are not legitimate means you haven't really been paying attention to Big Tech censorship for the last year or so.
You missed the RFK Jr reference, or is now ok for conks to buddy up to Jr, basically the face of the anti-vaxers.

Different topic of which I’m aware. It just happens to be at the top. If I’m going to use a source which validates my arguments I’m going to find one that doesn’t have that disclaimer rather than the first one I find that suits my confirmation bias.
Since you're aware of the Big Tech censorship issue, you know they flag any statements that go against their prescribed narratives.

I just read the quote from the article in your original post again.

So you don't think the vaccine companies would like a vaccine passport that forces people to get a new vaccine whenever a new variant appears?

I'm not sure I would call it a conspiracy, but in this day and age of extreme language, like insurrection, it is appropriate.

By the way, you see that fucker Fauci agrees with the nut?

Couple things here:

1) Big Pharam is about to cash in big time...twice a year.
2) So basically this "vaccine" is just a glorified flu shot?

Nearly half the people already downplay the virus, and nearly half the people over react. Truth is somewhere in the middle. I would put Teadon in the upper 10% of downplayers.
Just saw this. You are incorrect on the amount of under and overplay.

When 9 out of 10 Libs overestimate how many people are hospitalized due to COVID AND 3 out of 4 Conks do the same, that's around 80% of the population not knowing facts and overestimating the severity.

My own Conk father is deathly afraid of variants and he has absolutely no comorbidities and exercises almost every day out in the sun in Phoenix in addition to being vaccinated.

While I won't say it's the scientists, it's for sure the media scaring the shit out of everyone, and as CID posted, our elected officials are too worried about how they will look, so they play it ultra safe.

By the way. I've been sitting in the middle this whole time watching the shit show. Why do you think I keep referring to experience and history of past pandemics?
Fear porn has played a large role in this China virus response. Let's not that fact do un-noticed.

Until it’s confirmed that Moderna provides protection for the variants and transmission lump me in that 54% because 1) I wouldn’t want to be asymptomatic and give it to someone else, and 2) if I get it, I die.
