How many droplets were stopped? Do we know the estimated cell count for infection? Are they 6 feet?

Think of the progressive benefits of getting people to the grave faster:It's win/win/win/win.
- Reduced medical expenses = more money for Medicare for All.
- People collect less of their social security benefits making the program more solvent.
- People spending less of their personal retirement funds = increased estate tax collections help to fund the progressive wish list.
- Old people tend to be conservative and the damn Baby Boomers are the ones who bankrupted the government for their own benefit. Fvck them, society is better off without them.
Kalm, Jelly, Houndy, Jon, JSO did I miss any?
Paying the bills for my mom’s skilled nursing, palliative, and hospice care was eye opening.
You liquify all of your assets (savings, investments, property) before Medicaid kicks in and replaces the $10,000/month out of pocket bill.

Hey, how come we're allowed to call the new strain of COVID-19 the "UK Variant" but it's taboo to make any location reference to Wuhan or China when talking about COVID-19? Methinks the Brits aren't as good at control of mass media as the Chinese apparently are. Or the percentage of white people in the UK is still crazy high despite what we see in movies like "Bend it Like Beckham".

Not really. You have your whole life to plan for your demise. Some people don't and depend on their crotch fruit to take care of them (not saying you fall in this bucket). When I become a vegetable, I want to be dragged out back and shot in the face.

Wait till the Covid healthcare costs and deferred care come home to roost. Providers, insurance companies, investors, and the under-insured will all be rooting for socialist medicine. But I get it, when the economics and health outcomes aren’t on your side, cry “death panels!”.
I’m thankful to have you and Ganny around and remind there are still semi-reasonable center right conks out there.

Nah, that's not sticking. Besides potentially being racist because of the predominately Black population in Africa, they think what they're seeing in South Africa is just the UK Variant showing up there. It's still the Brits fault. Damn colonizers. Like I said, nary a peep that we shouldn't be calling it that.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:10 amNow we have the Africa strain as well.GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 7:45 am Hey, how come we're allowed to call the new strain of COVID-19 the "UK Variant" but it's taboo to make any location reference to Wuhan or China when talking about COVID-19? Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
Universal health care is coming, like Thanos, it's inevitable. But it's not going to change anything, just where the angst and criticisms are directed. We'll still have relatively crappy health care for those less fortunate and for the affluent they'll have access to the private health care industry that will be fabulous. It'll be just like the UK's NHS, but without the weird patriotic fervor that they have for it, in spite of its shortcomings. We'll still have the same issues with life expectancy here - we still have guns, enormous amounts of unhealthy food, tremendous miles of roadways that we travel on a ton, and an amazing disregard for personal health and well being. Affordable, or even free, access to health care does little to change any of that.kalm wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:16 amWait till the Covid healthcare costs and deferred care come home to roost. The death panel comment was tongue-in-cheek but I do think that there will be significantly more unhappy outcomes with Medicare for All than proponents are willing to admit or gullible believers understand.kalm wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:16 amWait till the Covid healthcare costs and deferred care come home to roost. We should be writing down our debt to China by every penny we spend on COVID-related expenses.

Hey, don't be racist, it's COVID-19, it could've popped up anywhere, and if we believe the Chinese, it probably did originate somewhere else. Now, that UK Variant, that's different, we know it's the fault of those royalty-loving Brits. Darn hooligans too.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:25 amThe death panel comment was tongue-in-cheek but I do think that there will be significantly more unhappy outcomes with Medicare for All than proponents are willing to admit or gullible believers understand.kalm wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:16 am
