I’m fine with all of that. I apologize (again) for the equity micro aggression.

8-)
No need to apologize, I'm not some Karen whining about micro aggressions or having to wear a mask. :)
Keep up the good work - if you pick something new to not whine about every day in a couple of years you wont have anything to whine about. :thumb:

Really? That's what you come back with? Georgia is not allowing certain groups to participate in democracy? Are they doing that by mandating the use of early voting drop boxes? Are they stopping people from voting by ensuring weekend voting and even voting on Sundays? What will Georgia do next to stop people from voting - mandate that people already in line when the voting period ends are still allowed to vote? The outrage.

Are those real?
No. Someone took a Capri Sun pouch and physically added BudLight labels to it.

Not sure how it would work with real beer as the carbonation would inflate the pouch.

Not sure if trolling but I was talking about equity when it comes to political access not wealth or income. There’s always going to be greater access with wealth but we can do better. The current system is built on corruption.

If you and I have a friendly match I’m playing as a scratch against your net score. We might even negotiate the spread but your USGA HDCP would probably suffice since we wouldn’t be playing for fingers and toes. If it’s an actual competition we wouldn’t even be in the same flight and probably playing from different tees. Life isn’t flighted...and the world (and my industry) needs ditch diggers too.... but I digress.
I'm using golf as an analogy to snarkily support Ganny's point about equity ...
GannonFan wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 6:44 am Equality is a different argument than equity. Your example earlier of women getting the right to vote was a matter of equality. I'll argue for equality for all until the cows come home, that's an easy agreement. It's when you get to equity, i.e. equal outcomes, that I diverge. Did you mean to conflate the two or was that just an oversight? :coffee:
And I agree that we can do better but the goal should be equality/equal opportunity, not equity/equal outcomes.

Democrats don't want to reduce money's influence on politics for some altruistic reason, they want to reduce it because it tends to benefit Republicans. The opposite is true for union (money and boots on the ground) influence.

Midway through NBC Bay Area's interview with Oakland's head of violence prevention, Guillermo Cespedes, two robbers interrupted, holding up the crew and Cespedes. A "scuffle" took place, an Oakland police spokesperson told SFGATE, before a security officer with the news crew pulled out his own firearm and commanded the robbers to leave.

The incident took place Monday afternoon, shortly after Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong decried a city budget that reallocated an extra $18 million away from police out of a proposed police budget of $674 million. Those funds will be put into the city's Department of Violence Prevention, helmed by Cespedes, who joined the department in 2020.

It's official now: the recall election to eliminate the most corrupt governor in the history of California has been set for 14 SEP 2021. I can't wait to vote his shell out. His mismanagement of COVID, the wildfire situation, and the disgusting cost of gas that he's overseen are MORE than enough reason to dump him. And Auntie Nancy can't protect him, either....

Who could have predicted this?
A California law allowing transgender inmates to pick the prison gender of their choice has come under fire from a women’s rights group citing abuse of females by men.

In a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Women’s Liberation Front accused the state of violating the constitutional rights of incarcerated women by allowing men into their living quarters to “prey on women.” Since the law took effect on Jan. 1, WLF has received numerous complaints of assaulted, abused, and traumatized women at the hands of male inmates transferred into their prisons, WoLF Legal Director Lauren Adams said.
