Trump just had a spirited public debate with Chuckie and Nancy about the border wall. Trump was saying that he will shut down the government if there is no wall funding. Chuckie said that he is proposing the same thing as last time and it was accepted the last time so it should be accepted this time. Nancy begged to continue the discussion in private.

Throw the Army Corps of Engineers at it

In fact, during a large portion of its pre-Civil War history, the US Army was mostly engaged in security engineering, mostly coastal fortifications (I guess in case France decided to chomp us off instead of Mexico)

It will be entertaining -

Open borders types (read: Democrats) going down to constructions sites and harassing the military (chants of baby killers will come back into vogue)

Democrats vowing as part of campaign promises to take the wall down if elected

The question wasn't for me but, honestly, the only reason I want a fence is to keep stuff IN. I used to have one but it was a wooden fence and eventually degraded. I've never replaced it.

Now when my grandkids come over I wouldn't mind having a fence so I could turn them loose in the back yard and not worry about it. Also my wife once again has a dog and I'd love to be able to just throw it out in the back yard without having to worry about it.

I have never, ever looked at having a fence for the purpose of keeping stuff out. I have ALWAYS looked at it as a means of keeping things in.

BTW whatever happens with the "wall" Mexico is not going to pay for it. I'm sure Trump will try to find a way to argue that Mexico did. Like recently he's been claiming that some of the "wall" he was talking about has been built and that's nonsense. But it's not really going to happen.
