Nah, he may have asked for it to be postponed. Now he can just hang out in Florida at his place until Saturday. Win win for him.

Launch goes off well. However, one curious note is that just as the booster was about to land, the video goes out. Comes back on and the booster is sitting on the barge. Wouldn't be that noteworthy, but the exact same thing happened last time. Either they feel they can't show the landing live to keep it a secret on how it does it, or they didn't actually land it... again. Very fishy. :suspicious:

Or third choice: the feed went out.

We have far-shots of the rocket landing on a barge, and close-ups of the ground landings. They look to be the same mechanism.

Like I said, if this was the first time it happened, it wouldn't be noteworthy. If it's a video problem then WFT? They can build a rocket, launch it into space, have the booster land on a tiny barge, but they can't figure out how to make the video feed work? I guess it's low on the priority list, but they can't find one engineer to work on the problem?

I’m betting there’s a technology that Musk doesn’t want to showcase. Vertical landings aren’t new ur there could be something proprietary here that SpaceX doesn’t want to share.

I don't understand. We literally have multiple videos of this thing landing on the barge, including on-board footage. We also have a close-up of landing semi-successfully (lands, then one of the legs collapses and it tips over). Why go all conspiratorial on such a minor item?

The better question is why not just have the live feed be that one from another barge or heli? Why broadcast a feed that you know will cut out at the only important moment of the broadcast? Imagine showing a hockey game from a goalie cam that goes out any time a puck is actually shot.

Seriously

If Elon’s eggheads can figure out how to land all those boosters on boats and shit, you’d think they could design a docking mechanism where you can just pull up, bump into the hatch, throw it open, and leap through the door with your fuckin lightsaber

I'm sure we can, but it's probably a limitation of the two-decades old ISS than the capsule itself.
