On a related note, I am actually enjoying what is currently happening to that biology prof from Evergreen.

His set has enabled this nonsense and as far as I am concerned I can't thing of a more deserving target of progressive ire - and it will serve to eventually marginalize and shut down this absurd movement

The issue for many of us is not what they did or said, it is the fact that if anyone can get away with it, the left can. The right can't get away with far less.

The only thing about Maher that offends me is that giant hook nose. Get some work done on that beak already.

I am not a Bill Maher fan. But my outlook on this is the same as it is in any similar situation. The response is ridiculous. And it's sad that we live in a culture where someone potentially loses their job over a Statement like that. Just absurd.

My opinion is the same as if this were a conservative person saying it. It's pure crap. It's just a fvk'n word. Get over it.

I think the biggest takeaways from that show were:

1). Senator Ben Sasse is one of the sharpest conservative minds around. He was very impressive.

2). That techie dude in the 2nd interview had some interesting things to say about cyber-ethics and the "attention economy".

Then ask yourself "why" a person would get fired over something like this.
Is it because it offends the employer? Nope
Is it because it would hurt the employer's business (i.e. viewership, sponsorship, etc.)? Yup

This one wasn't off facebook. I gave you 2 examples that you dismissed apparently. When a JSO type response with stats, etc, to you becomes more important than my job, I'll take the time to reply in kind.

When Paula Dean was fired she was presently in the middle of losing a discrimination lawsuit and her brother who was also her show manager was in the middle of losing his sexual harassment suit..

These were law suits that they both lost
and also led to them getting fired - I don't know anything about the Hulk Hogan situation
But is Hulk hogan a conservative figure..?

If Maher was being sued for discrimination practices and sexual harassment he'd be GONE
