Selective memory on your part (not uncommon for you either). You keep regurgitating that two historical examples of fascism were initiated on the right and you blissfully ignore the actual details of what makes fascism fascist. Just because you label violent authoritarianism from the left with a different label (actually, you don't even provide a label for that as I'm sure you think Marxism is perfectly benign) doesn't mean that they can't be fascists. And at the end of the day, it's the tactics and mechanisms that lead to the violent authoritarianism that really matter. If it starts on the left or on the right ultimately does not matter at all. If I'm in a lifeboat and I poke a hole through the hull and flood the boat, does it matter if I was sitting on the left side of the boat or the right side of the boat when I did it? In the end, the boat still sinks. You'd have us believe that labeling the two sides differently would make a difference (and making the guy on the right side more sinister). As we all drown I don't see how that's remotely helpful.

But, in this case, you actually provided a decent link for once (miracles do happen). Browsing through some of it they had Umberto Eco's (brilliant guy - rather esoteric, but he clearly had plenty of neurons firing in that brain of his) 14 typical features of Eternal Fascism, which he calls Ur-Fascism. I list them here:



While you can certainly claim that some are the province of political thinking on the right (certainly the Contempt for the weak, and the Machismo and weaponry are almost exclusive to the right), there's literally nothing stopping political thinking on the left from exhibiting and using any of these typical features of fascism (you see it today in the Fear of Difference, the Disagreement is treason, The obsession with a plot, and most especially with the Selective populism and the Ur-Fascism speaks Newspeak). So again, when fascism is divorced from the isolated and historical examples (and a fairly small sample size at that) of what fascism was, and instead broken down into the components of the characteristics that could define it, and taking Eco's cue that it doesn't have to be, and often isn't, all of these, but some combination of these, then it's pretty easy to see how anyone anywhere on the political spectrum can and does utilize fascism to advance their causes.
