Got a birthday notification from an old friend on FB and visited his page to wish him a HB. I had him blocked and I quickly remembered why. He had a post bitching about some GOP folks who used talent agencies as models and how it was awful that they were now in congress and TV. As if being a bartender is a great place to find folks for congress.

Yup. I have about 4 or 5 people that I am friends with on FB but I have them blocked. Their rants are not normally worth reading and are only funny in small doses. After which I am too tempted to point out their logic flaws and that discussion isn't worth having.

Heck, they get Nigerians at the Mexican/US border claiming asylum. If they can make it there it's practically simple for Haitians to get there.

There are people from everywhere on that border, but I don't recall such big numbers ever from a single country other than a central American one.

Well, up until the last election we didn't really talk about the concept of open borders and unlimited migration before. Apparently a lot of folks outside the US were listening. Most of these Haitians have been living and working in South America for the last decade, but obviously see the US as a step up in life, which of course it is.
