The reason so many on the left defend Islam is because they have successfully conflated Islam with race and identity (makes it easier to shut down debate by accusing people of racism)

They've painted themselves into a corner (and the rest of us with them) and therefore cannot debate Islam on the accurate bases of philosophy, culture and religion.

That's why I rarely get into debates about Islam - for the same reason I don't debate 4 year olds

Of course Islamic violence has something to with Islam. Especially regarding cartoons. So Harris is right but it's difficult tondiscern the greater context of the argument they were having due to the shortness of the clip and the sounds of Sam slapping himself on the back throughout it.

What does Sam think we should do about Islam? Beyond the daylight and ridicule which are fine, what are his next steps?

But the press FOLDED like a cheap set-of Chinese made Wal-Mart lawn chairs

Mostly what Harris asks for is the impossible
He ask for the global left to stop allowing Muslims to hide in plain sight behind indefensible actions
But this has already proven to be too much to ask

in announcing that religions that include violence in their original code
must have a Reformation - we need to globally unite that the world is awaiting the Islamic reformation
